Chapter 66: Going Home Together

Pandas are sort of lazy and dirty animals. Even after gaining intelligence, they only think about eating most of the day. Probably, the only good thing about them is that they have a good temper and they don’t follow what others do as they have no intention to do so.

He quickly grabbed the little pet’s back collar, carried her, and sneaked out of the cave with a cold face. Looking at her filthy hands, he then lifted the one that touched the doo-doo and washed it with the torrential rain.

Lu Qiu, who was hit by a big droplet of rain, grimaced in pain, “…”

Feeling guilty, she didn’t dare to speak against him.

After she touched that thing, she then immediately understood what it was. And just when she was about to retract her hand, the giant cat had already caught her.

In the olden days, people used to wash their hands in the rain. After she finished washing her hands, she no longer moved around, leaning against the giant cat’s leg.

Since the valley’s terrain was low, plus it was raining at this moment, the temperature naturally feels a bit cold.

The giant cat was now sitting in a very dignified and elegant posture. With his tail curled up from his body next to his front paws; he looked just like a dignified and intellectual beauty.

Once again, Wells took Lu Qiu to his side and looked towards the sky outside the cave.

The rain in the mountain came fast and sharp, but it didn’t continue for a long time. Natural disasters are not frequent in this area. It should stop soon.

Lu Qiu stood still obediently, but the restless panda cub who kept on rolling around over the opposite side had slowly rolled over to Wells’ side.

To say it was a cub, it was as tall as two meters whenever it stood up— kinda gigantic for a cub. However, since it’s been huddling itself into a round ball of dumpling before, one would not notice how huge of an animal the cub was.

After the panda cub rolled in front of the two of them, it laid its body on the ground and continued eating bamboo. There were only a few bamboo trees standing near the cave’s entrance, and one could see that almost all of them had been gnawed before, leaving only the old and leafless stems behind. After gnawing for a while until it could no longer move, the cub then began to hug and chew his own feet.

It raised its leg to stand but lost its balance and fell once again. In the end, it rolled towards Wells’ leg.

Wells bowed his head, his amber eyes carrying not a slightest trace of emotion.

Afraid that he would go and kick the cub again, Lu Qiu hurriedly hugged his foreleg.

“Calm down. Calm down.”

The panda cub looked at his fur. Apparently, it thought that Wells was its mother and rubbed its gray back and butt against him while making a “mimi” sound as if trying to act coquettishly in front on him.

Wells: “…”

Still indifferent, she didn’t think that he would keep his claw like this.

The cub rubbed its body, which was all covered in mud and dust, against the giant cat, pushing his patience at its wits end. Wells really wanted to lift his paws, but the little pet suddenly stepped forward and rubbed the panda’s fur.

Fortunately, the cub didn’t attack her no matter how much she touched it.

Lu Qiu was caught in another bout of happiness. Today was indeed special; she could finally pet and rub a panda!

Unfortunately, her happiness was short-lived as Wells could no longer bear it. He lifted his paw and kicked the cub back to its mother’s side.

Lu Qiu felt a little regretful that she had only touched the cub twice. She hadn’t felt enough fluff yet!

But as soon as that idea had popped in her mind, the giant cat disappeared from her sight.

She looked up and saw the giant cat standing over the valley, letting the heavy rain drench his body. It seems like he no longer wants to go back to the cave for shelter.

Is he really angry?

The giant cat, who was lying down in the middle of the rain, turned around and exposed half of his belly.

Lu Qiu smelled the fresh scent of bamboo leaves wafting away.

Soon after, she finally understood that it was all because the panda cub had pulled and rubbed itself against the giant cat’s body.

She sympathized with him a little, but at the same time, she also found this situation funny. The giant cat must be really angry right now.

He was furious! He stayed in the rain for an entire ten minutes, making his fur all soaking wet while clinging on to his body, which made him look much thinner and weaker at this moment. The fur on his cheeks, forehead, and even his soft ears hung down. His pair of round eyes grew twice bigger, looking rather pitiful, like a little unwanted abandoned kitten in the rain.

Yet, he still didn’t wish to come back. He just stayed there, staring at the cave’s entrance.

Lu Qiu knew that he would never come back again. She turned around and looked at the pandas inside, feeling a little regretful but satisfied. Afterward, she turned her head and went out of the cave’s entrance, extending both of her hands to the giant cat.

Wells came forward and held her in his arms, not on his back, but close to his chest, where it’s safe from the rain.

When he passed by a tree, he plucked two leaves from it and laid them on his body. The leaves are a bit like lotus leaves with a stem in the middle, which can be used as a hat.

As the rain continued to pour down, Wells flew over the deep forest. Occasionally a glimmer of light would appear from within the black clouds on top of their heads. Lightning would then strike down in a distant horizon, making the sky dark and hazy.

He slowed down his flying speed, and with this, it took them at least an hour before they arrived home.

Strangely, Lu Qiu didn’t feel that the time was long. Lying in the giant cat’s arms, Lu Qiu looked at this world that had become strange and bizarre because of the rain.
