Chapter 65: Panda Heaven

After kicking the panda cub, Wells immediately went down and didn’t stay at the edge of the valley.

Because it wasn’t that high, the animals only viewed this valley as an ordinary one, but in Lu Qiu’s eyes, it was practically abysmal— the type that would surely take her life once she fell down. For her, this height is definitely high beyond compare.

Lu Qiu, who had been watching the panda cub from behind, felt restless as she watched it roll back and forth two more times before reaching the bottom of the valley. After seeing how it got up and walked without sustaining any injuries, Lu Qiu placed her mind at ease.

Pandas are the most resistant animals when it comes to falling. This degree of stumbling wouldn’t do them any harm.

At this moment, the thunder had already ceased but drops of water gradually followed behind. A torrential downpour of rain then came right after, dripping over the branches and leaves before landing onto the ground. And the formerly bean-sized raindrop had practically turned into a ping-pong ball-sized raindrop, hitting their bodies continuously.

Because of this, Lu Qiu shrunk her head and curled herself as much as possible, turning herself into something like a tiny dumpling.

This situation made it impossible for them to leave this place immediately. Wells knitted his brows and decided to look for someone from this area and ask for shelter.

He doesn’t mind being drenched, but he was afraid that the little pet might feel uncomfortable.

He took Lu Qiu, who was curled up on his back, and carried her to his arms. In order to quicken their pace, he did not hold Lu Qiu like how he usually did but rather, he opened his mouth and bit her waist just like a big cat holding a kitten. Although his fangs were sticking right next to her waist, it didn’t cause her any harm.

Lu Qiu felt that her head was spinning as she swayed, but this posture wasn’t really uncomfortable for her. But because of this, she didn’t notice where she was.

Wells rarely visited the Falling Star Forest.

Yet now that he did, instead of looking for a cave, he first brushed away the pile of bitten bamboo poles and dead leaves on the ground. Finally, he found a piece of a very small metal plate.

It seems that the metal plate was bitten before as it got teeth marks and an obvious crack on it, the tooth mark even pierced directly through the mobile phone.

Wells handed the mobile phone to Lu Qiu.

She felt surprised and lost at the sight of her broken mobile phone. She had thought that if her phone was still in a good condition, then she could at least play with the games she had installed inside to pass time. She could also watch the recorded movies that she hadn’t watched yet before going outside. Furthermore, her phone storage held several photos…G-photos, which were all about how she previously celebrated her Chinese New Year.

I’m afraid I couldn’t see them anymore in the future.

But her dejection didn’t last for long as the mobile phone definitely wouldn’t last for a long time. When all was said and done, she had already expected such a result in her heart.

After finding Lu Qiu’s things, Wells then immediately followed behind the two pandas.

The first one they saw seemed to be the mother panda. After these two pandas rolled down, she immediately bit the nape of the cub to stop it from rolling further down the valley. And after a few walks, they finally stopped in front of a cave that was located in a fairly unique location.

This cave was located in the middle of a slope, and the roof of its entrance was obliquely protruding downwards. So, even if it rains, the rainwater would only fall into both sides of the valley, but never into the cave.

The mother panda bit the cub and quickly plunged into the entrance. And Wells, without any trace of politeness, had also followed after them inside the cave.

The space inside the cave was large enough to accommodate several adult male cats and have them live together, while the floor was almost covered with all sorts of bamboos, some of which had even been chewed. One could even smell a faint fragrance coming from the bamboo leaves, which scent was very pleasant to the nose, filling the air inside.

Originally, the light within the valley was very dim, making it even darker inside the cave. After a while of getting used to the dark, Lu Qiu was now able to see what was on the ground more clearly. Aside from bamboos, there were also patches of protuberances on the ground, so she gazed at them for a long time and guessed that they might be some bamboo shoots.

The mother panda was supposed to be angry at having other animals following her inside her territory, but instead of driving out these animals away, she just turned a blind eye to their intrusion and did nothing instead. She continued doing her own business after settling her cub in a corner and started eating with great ease.

Wells stopped at the cave entrance and didn’t go in any further. There seemed to be some kind of tacit agreement between him and the mother panda.

But because she didn’t hear them talk to each other, Lu Qiu couldn’t understand how it happened.

The pandas of this world were also gigantic. Such a giant panda standing not that far away from herself, Lu Qiu couldn’t take her eyes off it. She leaned against the giant cat’s leg and stared at the giant panda with sparkling eyes.

The panda is eating bamboo! It looks so cute~!

The panda cub was also eating, but after chewing for a while, it suddenly stopped and started to roll around beside the mother panda— rolling from left to right like a ball. It groaned as it tried to crawl up from the ground, but after getting up, it fell down once again. Seemingly tired and had given up, it then lied on the ground after finding a bamboo lying beside its face. Then, it opened its mouth and just continued eating without raising an arm.

Lu Qiu couldn’t help but cover her heart upon seeing this scene.

How can it be this cute! It’s super-duper cute!

Wells found that from the moment they ran into these two animals, the little pet’s eyes had never once glanced back into his way.

He was feeling a bit unhappy.

Her line of sight was still on the two pandas with the mother panda calmly eating her bamboo, creating a clicking sound incessantly.

The same goes for the baby panda, who kept moving on the ground like a boneless creature. While crawling, it also made a distinct crying sound, which was a little bit similar to a human voice— thin, yet sharp and clear.

Lu Qiu sucked in her breath. Her face had been smiling since a while ago— like a blooming flower, yet she couldn’t stop herself.

In the end, Wells couldn’t help but lift his paws to cover Lu Qiu’s eyes.

Lu Qiu turned her head and found that the giant cat’s brilliant eyes were staring at her in the dark with its giant paws forcing her to turn around.

Although the cat was aloof, he had a strong possessive desire. With this, Lu Qiu immediately realized that she seemed to have neglected him, making him unhappy.

She chuckled twice as she lifted and hugged the giant cat’s front paw, pacifying the cat by petting his fur.

Wells tried to break free but found that the pet was holding him tightly. When he lifted his paw, she even got lifted and swayed in the air with it.

The little pet smiled foolishly at him.

Alright, alright, forget it. Maybe, she had never met a panda before, so she was now finding its presence as a novelty. After all, animals have a strong curiosity.

Wells made an excuse for Lu Qiu’s behavior and quickly forgave her.

As the time went by, the rain outside became even more heavier and produced a noise so loud as if the end of the world was now approaching. Nothing could be heard apart from the sound of the heavy rain outside, making the animals who listened to it become even more anxious as they all went into hiding.

Because they didn’t return home this noon, Ruth sent a message to Wells to inquire about their situation.

Wells released Lu Qiu and replied to Ruth’s message, saying that he was all right. While he was looking at his inbox, he also took his time to look at the messages he received yesterday and found that there were so many messages left for him. They were all from his second brother and younger sister, whom he had blocked from his contacts for such a long time. He didn’t know where they heard the news, but they had sent him two messages, which didn’t show on his screen.

Too lazy to keep looking at the messages, he closed the screen and looked back only to find that the pet was no longer around.

On the other side, Lu Qiu didn’t really go near the two pandas. She was only being curious about the bumps on the ground.

If they were bamboo shoots, why wouldn’t they be eaten?

It just so happened that her distance wasn’t that far away from the bumps. Lu Qiu glanced at Wells and the two pandas who were still eating. She then quietly went towards the bumps, bent down, and stretched out her hands to touch one of them.

Wells turned his back only to see his little pet reaching out her hands towards the doo-doo!!!

Yep, that’s right. Those bumps on the ground were all lumps of panda’s poop.

Bamboos were not particularly nutritious, so pandas need to constantly eat and digest their foods. As a result, they excrete about 30 or 40 times a day, and naturally, the cave where they reside would definitely be filled with their excrements.

Wells would never take a single step into this place unless it was necessary.
