Chapter 24: Feeling Beautiful in the Heart

After building a psychological wall for herself, she slowly opened her eyes and saw a tall bear standing in front of her.

Her heart was thumping hard again. She saw that the light sources on the bear’s head and chest were two light bulbs which “grew” under its fur. From the side, she could see the short bracket with the bulb connected.

Lu Qiu did not dare to stare at the bear confidently. The more she looked at it, the more unreal it became. The bear was not as smart and real as the giant cat nor the black panther. Its body proportion was also a bit problematic.

As she looked at it, the bear robot took out a needle that had been prepared earlier.

Lu Qiu’s arm was pulled up, and then she was given a needle.

The robot drew her blood and placed it on the instrument at the side for testing.

The results showed right after.

“The virus has been completely cleared. Everything is normal.”

Wells was relieved.

The robot moved so quickly and everything was over before Lu Qiu had the time to resist. Then the robot took a cotton swab and rubbed it on her arm. The next thing she knew, the wound had disappeared instantly.

This made her remember about the time when a dog held the wound on her arm and poked it. When she woke up not only the wound was gone, but she also gained a fever.

She was vaguely aware that she might have rabies. The wound felt so painful that she forgot about the infection after the hair-pulling incident.

Since she was already cured from rabies, she was now completely free from any discomfort and felt refreshed.

She touched her arm and focused her eyes on the bed. She didn’t know since when these several machines were set but the machine was very high-tech in a glance.

I thought that this world has a fantasy setting, but now, there suddenly are high-tech products here. Is this actually a more technologically advanced world? What is going on here?

The robot doctor disassembled the instrument again then opened its chest shell, exposing its interior space that was covered with metal texture. All parts of the instrument were put in order by category.

Lu Qiu held her chin as the robot opened its front chest shell, so as to not let her chin fall open.

This is really a robot in a bear’s skin.

How was it made? Who made it? Where is the human being? Where is it? What is the situation now and how is it outside?

Her small head was full of big question marks.

Even after the robot had left, she still held her chin close.

The robot was wearing a bearskin. Could it be that the two animals in front of her were also robots?

She had a lot of physical contact with the giant cat. She had touched it. That feeling could not possibly deceive people.

Nevertheless, she felt uncertain again. Maybe because of the thick fur so it can’t be felt?

Thinking of this, Lu Qiu suddenly stood up from the bed.

Wells watched in doubt as his new pet suddenly got up and spread her arms. She then left the bed and jumped into his arms.

The bed was not high so it was okay to jump down, but this hairless monkey was too weak and might die after it falls. He quickly raised his paws and grabbed her into his arms just before she fell to the ground.

Lu Qiu then plunged into the giant cat’s large and soft chest. She was buried in thick and warm fur. Her fingers touched the skin under the cat’s long fur.

She could feel the sound and vibration under the warm skin. It was the sound of a heart beating rapidly.

The giant cat is real!

Wells sensed Lu Qiu’s movements. His skin became itchy when he was touched by Lu Qiu’s fingertips. He felt uncomfortable at the touch.

This little pet is so sticky.

Yet at the same time, he actually felt a little happy in his heart.

You should know that the ones he brought back from the past, even the one with the mildest temperament, dared not touch him at close range. If you get a little closer, they will hide. Screaming, struggling, peeing at him all over, and some of them even spit directly on him.

Poor petting experience made Wells once very repulsive towards keeping pets.

But now, at last! A pet took the initiative to seek a hug and leaned on his arms very fondly.

Wells, who was satisfied with all his body and mind, unconsciously lifted his chest, allowing Lu Qiu to lean closer.

Then he walked out of her room while holding her.

Ruth froze for a moment and immediately followed him. He then asked suspiciously, “My Lord, where are you going so late?”

Wells shouted, “Going back to my room, she’s going to stay with me tonight!”
