Chapter 28: Sanbao’s Inquiries (3)

“You have a meeting this late?” After Gu Yuanyuan learned that he was having an overseas video conference, the first thing that came to her mind was: A meeting at 4 o’clock in the morning! Who proposed it? Don’t you know that staying up late at night is bad for your health?

As a matter of fact, this overseas conference was not that particularly important to Jiang Yun; he was only doing it because he couldn’t sleep. Now, however, he suddenly felt happy and sleepy at the same time.

A moment later, he said, “Well, I’ll just tell them to continue the meeting next time.”

As for the other high-profile men on the other side of the overseas video conference… because of their time differences, the meeting was held in the afternoon where they were—the time of the conference was just right for them.

Up until now, the meeting had been very productive. Everyone expressed their own opinions and points of view, and during this time, their big boss, Jiang Yun, was listening in and would occasionally question them once in a while.

Everyone was accustomed to this kind of approach as it had already become routine for them.

Among all of them, none of them would have thought that during this important overseas video conference, they would suddenly hear a pleasant female voice on the other side of their boss’ screen. “Dabao, how come you haven’t gone to sleep yet?” After hearing that, the video was interrupted.

The faces of the distinguished men showed obviously stupefied reactions.

However, these big men were all foreigners, and clearly, they knew nothing of the Chinese language. They only heard the female’s voice and saw a sudden slight ambiguous smile on their boss’ face. At the same time, they had some doubts in their mind, but with Jiang Yun’s coldness and seriousness, this kind of small mistake should never have happened.

At the front of the conference table, there was a young woman dressed in professional attire. She was a typical oriental woman with short hair and sharp eye lines. She was skilled, capable, intellectual, and had a straightforward attitude. With just one glance at her, one could easily tell that she was a very professional woman.

While everyone’s reactions started to become warm, the face of the young woman showed indifference and a strange expression. It was a mixture of uncertainty and doubt; it was as if she couldn’t believe what she had just heard.

From just that sentence alone, the young woman immediately concluded that there was indeed a young girl in Jiang Yun’s bedroom. Moreover, her intuition told her that the little girl was beautiful.

A minute later, the video call was connected again. On the screen, they saw Jiang Yun had typed some words. “Negotiate and discuss the results by yourselves. This meeting is over.”

A white handsome man walked across the conference table and approached Wang Ning. With his strange accent, he said, “Mary, our boss seems to have found a new love, but don’t be sad. I’m still here. Look at me. I’m not that bad.”

Wang Ning simply smiled. She stood up and strongly slammed her pointed high heels on the feet of the handsome Caucasian man. It resulted in the man’s bitter scream as the young woman walked away without a second thought.

After Gu Yuanyuan saw that the child was finally going to sleep, she let go of the worries in her heart. She felt relief as she quietly returned to her room and dived herself into the cuddly big doll on her bed, falling asleep in a few seconds.

The next day, as soon as she opened her eyes, she was immediately assaulted by the blinding lights of the sun shining through the window gaps. She was about to cover her eyes, but then, the light suddenly disappeared before she could even do anything.

She opened her eyes once again, only to find Dabao blocking the light from the sun.

“Good morning, Dabao.” Gu Yuanyuan extended her whole body into a big stretch, and when she looked at the time, she noticed that it was already 10:30 in the morning.

“It’s not early anymore,” Jiang Yun lightly said.

Gu Yuanyuan: “…”

She felt a little bit guilty that she slept so long. Ever since she became part of the cast, she had to get up around 6:30 in the morning every day. Moreover, she hadn’t woken up this late in such a long time.

Seeing that she had adapted to the light, Jiang Yun slowly pulled the curtains open.

Gu Yuanyuan noticed that there was an obvious sunken part at the side of her bed. That could only mean… She took a glance at Dabao’s back as he was busy fixing the curtains; Dabao came into her room way earlier than she initially thought.

She also slept like a pig and hadn’t realized it.

Inside her mind, Gu Yuanyuan was harshly beating herself up for her own stupidity.

As she was about to get out of bed, Jiang Yun twisted a towel and walked toward her. He was ready to wash her face when Gu Yuanyuan suddenly raised her hands and hurriedly said, “Dabao, Mommy’s hands are already fine now!!!”

Jiang Yun took a closer look at it, and indeed, he couldn’t see any clear signs of redness. Hence, he put down her hands regretfully. After that, Gu Yuanyuan washed her face without speaking a single word, and Jiang Yun followed along silently.
