Petite Mother of Four Big Shots - Chapter 28.2 - Sanbao's Inquiries (2)
Chapter 28: Sanbao’s Inquiries (2)
As he quit WeChat, Jiang Yun swiftly called Zhang Yan, immediately barking orders at him. “Go and check all about Lu Wenchen.”
As soon as Gu Yuanyuan felt the brightness of daylight, she immediately realized that she was dreaming. She had dreamed about the four little cubs, one after another, like little turnip heads. With their cute little butts, they followed behind her enthusiastically, their adorable appearances melting her heart.
In a blink of an eye, the four little turnip heads each grew up. It was as if they had eaten some kind of medicine that instantly turned them into adults. She could now clearly see what they looked like—with the exception of Xiaobao, whose face was still fuzzy and hard to discern.
In her dream, she became a master chef with excellent cooking skills. With just a clap of her paws, she instantly filled the table with delicious vegetable dishes and happily fed her four little cute cubs.
However, the scene, which was supposed to be filled with warmth and happiness, was ruined by the pervert’s—Lu Wenchen’s—sudden appearance.
Gu Yuanyuan: “…”
Shocked, she abruptly woke up from her dream. As she opened her eyes, a glow of light from the bedside night lamp entered her eyes.
She glanced at the time and noticed that it was already 4 in the morning.
The place where she was burned yesterday had eased quite a lot. Gu Yuanyuan tried moving her fingers, and the pain she felt before was no longer there. She didn’t know if it was because of the ointment, but the effect was amazing nevertheless!
As she prepared to go back to sleep, she suddenly thought of Dabao again. Inevitably, she thought, Will he still kick his blanket when he sleeps at night?
Her third son, Lin Shaosi, was always restless in his sleep. At first, he slept normally with his head on his pillow by the headboard; however, during the middle of the night, his sleeping position would always change. His head would always end up at the foot of the bed, resulting in him sleeping in an odd position. Moreover, his blanket would also end up lying on the floor. Gu Yuanyuan concluded that her son must have been practicing kung fu in his dreams.
She wanted to fix his blanket and cover him with it, but the next thing she knew, she was suddenly greeted by a cold glint of a knife threatening her very life. Resignedly, Gu Yuanyuan had no choice but to abandon her motherly intentions.
She yawned, turned the lights on, and opened the door gently. She went outside and walked toward Jiang Yun’s room as she decided to lightly open the door and check on her son.
As soon as she turned the doorknob and opened the door, she was dumbfounded to see bright rays of light leaking out of his room. It was clear that Jiang Yun still hadn’t gone to sleep yet.
Gu Yuanyuan: “!!!”
Jiang Yun was half-reclined on his bed with his back on the headboard. He had his laptop on his knee and wore a pair of earphones in his ears. The keyboard made light tapping sounds as his fingers danced over it to type.
He was probably too focused on his work to consider the possibility that Gu Yuanyuan might open his door and visit him in the middle of the night. For a moment, he hadn’t noticed that Gu Yuanyuan had already entered his room.
Until—
“Dabao, how come you haven’t gone to sleep yet?”
Jiang Yun: “…”
He instantly slammed his laptop closed. The expression on his face and the closing of his laptop just then was the very illustration of how a child would react after being caught by their parents while playing a computer game instead of sleeping.
“Mom, why are you still up?” Jiang Yun coughed as he placed his laptop next to him. Just then, he was having an online overseas video conference with his employees.
Gu Yuanyuan pointed at the clock and sharply emphasized the current time. “It’s already 4 o’clock in the morning.”
She puffed her cheeks with visible objection and narrowed her eyes in full disapproval.
Obviously, this should have been a very serious moment, but when Jiang Yun saw her act like this, he wanted to burst out laughing for some reason.
The current appearance of his mother didn’t feel as imposing as it should have been.
Jiang Yun hadn’t been controlled by anyone over the years… and no one had even dared to try so. Not even his personal assistant, Zhan Yang, had the courage to do it. Facing the very evident disapproval of his mother, he lightly explained, “I’m in a meeting.”
“You have a meeting this late?” After Gu Yuanyuan learned that he was having an overseas video conference, the first thing that came to her mind was: A meeting at 4 o’clock in the morning! Who proposed it? Don’t you know that staying up late at night is bad for your health?
