Master Meow - Chapter 70
Chapter 70: Visiting Neighborhood
This place was already at the border of Wells’ territory; a few steps ahead and it would be another nobleman’s fief. However, the two sides were separated by a huge chasm-like gap, making it difficult to come and go.
Although it was extremely dangerous, there would still be some animals from the opposite side who would cross here from time to time.
In order to prevent the animals from leaving, Viscount Burren recently issued a ban, forbidding all the animals from approaching the territory’s borderline. Aside from that, he also sent a group of lions to guard the vicinity and a few robust falcons to constantly patrol in the sky. In any case that an animal was found sneaking around, making an attempt to escape, they would readily kill the big ones and take the small ones back.
Wells’ cold gaze swept over the flying falcons above. Their vicious currents strongly exuded out from their bodies, and their feathers were even stained with a lot of blood. It was obvious that they had just eaten their fill a moment ago.
Didn’t know how many animals had died here, but the edge of the chasm was all covered with white bones.
There were also several antelope corpses, with their blood still flowing out of their stomachs, lying just a few steps away from the lions. A young antelope, who was still alive despite his serious injury, arched his father’s body.
But the group of lions just lazily lied down on the other side, neither giving them a glance nor having any intentions of following the order of throwing the antelope’s cubs back to the grassland, leaving the young ones to fend for themselves.
Wells pounced on one of the falcons; his movement was as quick as a shadow. And before the falcon could even react, Wells’ sharp claws had already blinded it and even broke one of its wings, which produced a cracking sound.
With its two eyes blinded and one wing broken, the falcon fell rapidly to the ground.
Seeing this, all of his comrades rushed towards Wells, but their fate ended as same as that of the previous one, and they soon fell onto the ground one after another.
A dozen of lions warily looked at the sky as this commotion had startled them.
Flying also played a very important role this time. In front of the giant cat’s aerial attacks, the lions were unable to fight back and could only be beaten passively.
Wells was too fast, making it completely impossible for the lions to strike back.
The successive injuries aroused the lions’ ferocity. When Wells approached again, the lions suddenly charged forward and tenaciously bit his leg with their teeth. The lions then plunged their sharp claws in Wells’ flesh to keep him from flying away and evade their attacks.
Wells was in pain. His tail whipped back violently and swept the lions, while his hind legs kicked and sent them flying out.
He licked the blood that flowed out of his wound, and after tasting his blood, he once again charged forward with great fervor.
Fortunately, the fight didn’t last for long. And when the last lion fell to the ground, a huge alarm rang in the air.
Wells sobered up slightly; he looked around, and frowned. He flew towards the antelope’s side and gently picked up the little antelope, who was still struggling. Then, he crossed the chasm and returned to his territory. When he found a herd of antelopes, he placed the young one next to one of their females.
Without the lions and falcons watching over the area, a group of very thin-looking animals soon gathered near the chasm. There were many kinds of animal groups in there. The first one was a gigantic python, which was long beyond comparison. It used its body as a bridge to connect the two sides of the chasm so that the animals could quickly pass through him.
When the alarm went off, an exceptionally enraged Viscount Burren flew up using an aircraft.
Wells stood high in the air, waiting for him to arrive.
Viscount Burren is a rather small brown poodle who barks well just like a noble animal. His hair has always been well organized, and even on the Giant Rock Star, he is always dressed carefully while wearing a black hat on top of his head.
A dozen of huge falcons arched around him.
Although he had been a neighbor for a long time, Burren was still a little frightened after seeing Wells, and stopped the aircraft from a distance.
He clenched his teeth and said, “It’s you again! This is my territory, but you invaded it at will without my permission and killed my guards! I want–”
Wells looked down at him, “What do you want? Complain to me? All right. You’re welcome.”
Burren jumped, “Don’t think you can do whatever you want just because you are the third prince. The third prince shouldn’t be staying in this broken place. I will ask my father to go see His Majesty and expose your wicked deeds to revoke your title.”
“Oh, you can go then.”
Wells couldn’t care less about the other animals’ accusations against him. After all, he knew well that it was useless.
“Are you angry? I’m even angrier than you!”
With that, Wells suddenly rushed forward and broke Burren’s four limbs before the bodyguards around him could react.
Wells stepped on his back and said in a low voice, “If you make any small movement on my territory, I will kill you right away. Do you think that your father will avenge you? You are also abandoned here, just like I. But crushing you is just a piece of cake for me, so I advise you to behave well.”
The giant spider, in fact, was sent by this Viscount Burren. Ruth had already made a thorough investigation.
Wells originally wanted to teach this neighbor a lesson. But since he was in a bad mood today, he just went and took a shot straight ahead.
Had had thought that his plans were flawless, that the giant spider incident wouldn’t be traced back to him, but he was wrong. Despite his efforts, Wells could still pin everything on his head.
“I-I understand.”
Wells released his hand. Burren immediately took control of the aircraft and pulled out of the distance, only to find that Wells didn’t chase after him. After looking from a distance, he quickly ran away without turning back.
Such a dispute hadn’t happened for a long time, and he had almost forgotten what kind of character Wells really was.
Wells felt better after venting off some steam, and just when he was about to leave, he saw the animals lining up at the junction of the two territories. The python, who was bridging the two sides, persisted for a long time.
He stepped forward to help and pulled the animals directly in the back. After this, he quickly left and jumped into a river.
He rubbed the blood off his body and found that the wound had stopped bleeding. Nonetheless, this little pain wouldn’t really affect him.
Ruth had been standing at the front door looking at him anxiously because it was now almost midnight when Wells finally returned to the stone castle.
