Master Meow - Chapter 62
Chapter 62: Searching for Lu Qiu’s Things (1)
Wells didn’t know why when the little pet looked at the screen, her face became more and more terrible. Was she scared? He quickly turned off the device and gently touched her face with his pink pads. Then, he took the little pet into his arms and rubbed her against his fur. He kept patting her back as he whispered, “Don’t be afraid. Don’t be afraid.”
Wells, who had never had any experience in comforting animals and usually disdained coaxing others, now had to teach himself and became even more better in this area.
Lu Qiu blinked; blinking away the sourness in her eyes. She was now the only human being in this world. Thinking about her situation carefully, she could be regarded as an extremely rare animal, even more precious than a giant panda. Then, would the animals look at her like humans look at giant pandas?
Probably not. After all, she wasn’t as cute as a panda.
Nonetheless, this sudden thought had amused herself. Lu Qiu rubbed her eyes and tried to pull out a smile.
It wasn’t really bad. After all, she had gotten a cat once again, and just having a cat was enough.
After a while, Lu Qiu’s curiosity about the screen that was floating in front of her had started once again. She didn’t see how the giant cat turned the screen on and off, but it must be located on one of his arms.
She touched the giant cat inch by inch and even laid her arms around his paws, yet she found nothing unusual, not even a single bump.
To be honest, it wasn’t really necessary for a personal device to be placed on one’s arms. There’s actually a lot of animals who had implanted it inside their eyes for convenience’s sake, making it easier for them to control with just blinking their eyes. However, Wells found this method too risky and decided to just go with the conventional way of using his device.
After searching for a while and failed, she couldn’t help but abandon her ideas. After rubbing against the cat’s fur for a while, Lu Qiu jumped out of his arms, faced the giant cat, and started to express the things that she had been thinking by using body language.
It was very challenging. She lied on the table and made a gesture like she just woke up from her sleep, ran away in fear, was caught and got hanged upside down, and finally, rescued.
She then pointed her finger towards the direction of the forest, pointed to herself, pointed to the forest, and took two steps forward.
Wells looked at the pet in disbelief.
Is she trying to relay a message to him? Does she mean to say that after waking up, she ran into danger, so she ran away anxiously and fell, then was rescued in the forest?
However, Wells still held some doubts. Is she talking about herself, or is she telling him that there’s someone who is in danger and wishes for him to rescue them?
Wells wasn’t particularly surprised about the ability of the little pet to express herself. In fact, there are a lot of ordinary animals who are very smart that they can even lead your way, play dead, and use tools to play with other animals. It’s such a pity that no matter how smart the animals were, they had never possessed the wisdom to be able to read and speak.
This sort of ordinary animal, which is smart but not to the degree of having awareness, is the best animal to be picked as a pet.
The forest next to the stone castle is called Black Wood Forest because the trunk color of the trees there is black, which is truly unusual.
Since the forest wasn’t dangerous, and he hadn’t taken the pet to go there with him, Wells looked at the sky while thinking about something, then eventually decided to carry the pet on his back and flew outside the window.
Lu Qiu didn’t expect that not only did the giant cat understand her meaning in one go, but he also carried her and went directly to the forest.
It’s just that…he got the wrong destination! The location where she first arrived when she transmigrated was really far away from here. It’s impossible for that forest to be near this place, so she could only use the nearby forest as an example.
When Wells was about to land onto the Black Wood Forest, Lu Qiu slowly moved to his neck and grabbed his fur to stop him from going down.
“Not here.”
Lu Qiu’s hand soon made a vague image, gesturing the appearance of a big tree.
Wells circled the forest for several times before realizing that the pet was actually asking about the forest where he saved her before.
Is she thinking about going back home?
When he realized it, he no longer circled the forest and immediately changed his direction.
The giant cat flew at a height that was almost as high as the clouds. Today, a lot of clouds, which looked like a huge cotton candy, could be seen with the sun hiding behind them.
Lu Qiu reached her hands to the clouds only to grab a handful of air, which felt slightly cold.
In less than half an hour later, the forest gradually appeared below them. The trees here were much taller than the ones near the castle. The wind was rustling those almost two-meter-wide leaves, creating a fierce sound which made it unclear whether it was just the sound coming from the wind or the sound of animals walking through the treetops.
After dealing with the pack of jackals, the forest became lively again, and the smell of blood left from yesterday was now gone.
Wells passed by the place where the battle had taken place yesterday, only to find two wolves prowling in the vicinity. When they found him passing by, they raised their heads and howled.
Then, as if they were calling for their companions, the wolves howled one after another, filling the whole forest with their cries.
There were also sounds coming from the chirping of birds, rattling of insects, and trembling of leaves. All sorts of sounds rose and fell as if they were holding a concert.
Feeling a little afraid, Lu Qiu tightened her arms that were circling around the giant cat’s neck and looked around the area with curiosity. Inadvertently, she caught sight of a big-tailed red squirrel standing on top of a tree while eating, but upon realizing her gaze, the squirrel ran away timidly.
Wells had a good memory and remembered where he first saw his little pet. But for a short period of time, he suddenly stopped on a tree.
Lu Qiu looked down and saw a vacant land covered by the fallen leaves. She was at a loss for a moment about why the giant cat decided to stop in that tree. She couldn’t remember anything at all, but after looking at the trees around her carefully, she eventually remembered that this was the place where she was taken away by the giant cat.
Unfortunately, the place where she first woke up was not here.
On top of that, she also didn’t know where the big tree was located. She was first caught by the giant wolf, and then it ran away for a long time, taking her with him. Afterward, she lost her consciousness and didn’t see anything clearly by the time she woke up. When she first arrived at this place, she was totally lost in the direction.
Lu Qiu somewhat felt anxious.
Actually, there was nothing very important inside her bag. When she went out that day, she only brought a bank card, ID card, keys, a pack of tissue, lipstick, a water bottle, mobile phone, power bank, charging cable, and an umbrella. There might also be two rubber bands and one or two pieces of coins.
She could even spell out what was inside her bag with her eyes closed.
Had she known ahead of time that she would transmigrate after going outside, she would have stuffed more useful things in her bag— at least more extra underwear and toilet papers.
