Chapter 55: Intelligent Animal

Once upon a time, back when she still had a pet, she was also keen on making a wool hat and scarf for her cat on her own, after that, she would take photos, send them to her friends, and post them on Weibo to show off.

Wells watched as his sharp claws got completely tangled up in the thread. In the end, the pet took another thread and tied it in the middle of the ball of yarn in his claws. Then, she took out the scissors and made two clicks.

Wells’ pupils shrank a little when he saw the scissors in her hands. However, he was confident that the pet would not hurt him, so he didn’t avoid it.

The thread was cut off from the edge and a fluffy ball, larger than his paws, miraculously appeared in front of him.

Lu Qiu carried the thread that was tied in the middle of the ball and shook it deliberately in front of the giant cat.

Although Wells had been able to endure for so long, this time, he couldn’t help but lift his paws to grab the pom-pom ball. However, he didn’t expect that the pet would lift the thread upwards, and so, the pom-pom ball went straight out of his arm’s length.

Lu Qiu habitually teased the cat with a pom-pom ball, but after this, the giant cat kept his paws away. His cute, lovely round eyes disappeared, and instead, his gaze turned confused and complicated as he looked at her. This made Lu We feel a little uneasy, so she moved back for a bit.

What is it? Is he angry for not being able to grab the ball?

Wells suddenly reacted— the little pet was teasing him!

Intelligent animals don’t regard ordinary animals as their own kind. They could be born in almost all races, but of course, flies, mosquitoes, and ants are not included. Intelligent animals are different from birth. In addition to being intelligent, they live much longer than ordinary animals.

If both parents of the children are intelligent animals, then there will be a 90% chance that the child will become an intelligent animal too. However, if the children’s parents turned out to be ordinary animals, then there would only be a 10% chance that they would become different.

After going through many years of research, researchers finally found that the reason for this situation is that most animals have a special gene in their bodies.

This gene didn’t originate from just any animal. However, the current data available was not enough to clarify what exactly it was. It might have been recorded a thousand years ago, but most of the data were now destroyed, so we could only guess that it was a kind of new intelligent race in addition to it being an animal. They shared some similarities, yet at the same time, they looked different from the existing animals.

According to the very few records they have, it seems that the animal was previously known as human– a very strange name.

After several attempts of restorations, researchers found that humans should be a bit like orangutans or monkeys. These two races were considered as the most intelligent animals, likely known to be clever and knowledgeable, and this result was acknowledged by most animals.

Wells was a little skeptical about the intelligence of this little pet as she was already an adult yet she still couldn’t speak the kingdom’s common language. Clever as she was, she still lacks the reaction that other animals have towards a lot of things.

This made Wells feel uncertain. Perhaps, he could try to test her intelligence when he got the chance.

Seeing that the giant cat had been looking at her with a strange look, Lu Qiu thought that he was angry after she teased him out of habit. At this moment, she remembered that this giant cat wasn’t ordinary and shouldn’t be treated like other ordinary cats.

“I’m sorry. I’ll give this to you as an apology.”

Lu Qiu stuffed the pom-pom ball made of yarn into the giant cat’s paws. After that, she no longer dared to tease him again and began to sew her clothes at ease.

A very crude finished product appeared in front of her eyes. It had no hemmings and the stitches were crooked, but Lu Qiu was still quite excited and quickly put it on.

Ignoring the rest, it’s actually pretty good and wearing it feels really comfortable.

It’s fine if her outer garment was gone, but she definitely would not accept walking around naked.

After that, she fumbled to make a dress. It was the simplest sleeveless straight tube that would fit into her neck and arms and reached to her thighs. The seams on one side were still very rough and ugly, but it was enough to cover her.
