Chapter 46: Coaxing the Little Pet

The more Lu Qiu cried, and the more she felt aggrieved, the more she shed her tears, the more broken-hearted she was. Why can’t these tears stop falling?

On the other hand, Wells was completely dumbfounded, making him unable to think about how to face this situation.

The first time he called her Qiu, the little pet was still smiling happily. So, why did she suddenly cry so bitterly and look so broken-hearted like this after he called her Qiu again?

Wells was at a loss. Previously, when he faced those noisy cries from his pet, he would just ignore it right away and remain unconcerned as it would calm down by itself once it had cried enough.

But now, when he faced this little pet, he was only thinking about how to stop her from crying and be happy again.

“Qiu.”

This method clearly didn’t work for Lu Qiu.

Therefore, Wells rubbed his head against Lu Qiu, then licked her salty and slightly bitter tears.

“Don’t cry, don’t cry.”

He never had any experience on coaxing anyone before, so now, he felt extremely distressed. He had no other choice but to keep repeating this short sentence back and forth and to keep licking away the tears on her face and arms.

Until now, she had always tried to hide away. But then, a pair of paws involuntarily came towards her forehead, making the little pet completely come to a halt. His pair of paws was gently patting her head as if she was a baby.

After holding back for a long time, she had burst into tears and had let her fears and depression out of her mind, and soon, Lu Qiu’s mood had visibly improved.

Being tickled by the giant cat’s fur, she couldn’t help reaching out and scratching it. And when she finally looked down, she saw two dark red furry paws.

Lu Qiu bowed her head and held Wells’ paws carefully and saw that the originally white paws had turned red. After touching them carefully, she found that there was no wound on them, and it seemed that the blood was not his. She then turned them upside down to look at the meat pad. That way, she could see that there was still a trace of flesh remaining in between his sharp claws.

The giant cat might have encountered a fight before going here, and it seemed that it was terrible.

Wells was also very concerned about the blood on his body. He didn’t wash in time, so it eventually became dry. Now, he should have a nice bubble bath to wash it off.

Turning his eyes around, he jumped back to the bedroom with the little pet in his arms and went straight into the kitchen, then he opened the cupboard and took out a transparent bottle from inside. The bottle was one meter high, and it was filled with pink flowing liquid inside. If one does not look at it carefully, then one would think that it was some kind of beverage.

He stuffed the bottle in the little pet’s arms, and the little pet gave Wells a suspicious look. Once again, he took Lu Qiu on his back and flew outside.

Lu Qiu held the bottle and followed the flying giant cat outside the castle.

This time, instead of heading towards the forest, Wells flew towards the south-west. All the way across the vast grassland.

The afterglow of the sunset spilled towards the boundless earth and covered the whole world with a special halo. Seemingly finding herself to be inside a beautiful painting, Lu Qiu slightly squinted her eyes and looked around her periphery.

When the giant cat finally stopped, she saw a wide river covered by vegetation.

The river had twists and turns. It was calm and without waves, and the water was clear and blue, reflecting the blue sky and white clouds.

When they got closer, the giant cat had suddenly plunged into the water. The river was not too deep for the giant cat, but it was deep enough to completely soak his body.

Lu Qiu was lying on his back and was taken into the water with Wells. Perhaps, after being exposed to the sun all day long, the temperature of the water in the river wasn’t as cold as she expected, it was rather warm and comfortable.

The giant cat exposed its head out of the surface while all of its limbs and body were still submerged underwater— unmoving.

Lu Qiu sat upright on the cat’s back, so the water level had only reached her chest.

She had entered the water so suddenly that she hadn’t had the chance to take her clothes off, but now it turned out like this— wet. She couldn’t wear them in the evening if they were wet, or she would catch a cold again.

She untied her clothes with difficulty, then shook the cat’s head, covered his ears and the back of his head with her clothes, and treated him as a drying machine to dry them.

The main reason being that the giant cat was just floating in the middle of the water. This river might not be that wide for the animals, but it was a wide river for her, making her unable to put her clothes on the bank.

When Wells found out, he lifted his paw and threw the clothes off his forehead to the grass nearby.

At this time, the giant cat’s all four limbs were completely spread open forming into a huge cat cake. As the thick fur spread out with the water, the giant cat cake swelled a little as well.

His tail swung and whirled around like a propeller, and Lu Qiu found that they slowly began to drift along with the water.

It was like a giant cat ship. Lu Qiu carefully stood upon the cat’s back. The cat’s back, which was floating in the water, was more comfortable than the clouds. She could also feel the soft fur swayed against her ankle like water grass.

Lu Qiu made a strange pose and shouted, “Go forward!”

Her shout had startled some animals under the bush by the bank. They had barely shown their heads, but now, they had abruptly plunged back into the ground.

After stepping on his back for a while, Lu Qiu also fell into the water. She could swim, but her posture wasn’t elegant, and she could only do breaststroke.

Splash!

Her movements had stirred the original calm surface of the river.
