Chapter 15 – The Senior Sister Called Cai Xin

After toasting with the bride and groom, Cai Xin pulled Zhang Heran out of the wedding venue. After walking a distance, Zhang Heran released his hand from hers, loosened his bowtie and said coldly, “I’m going back.”

Cai Xin smiled at him, “You must not be an ordinary construction worker!”

Zhang Heran glanced at her and said, “Is that important?”

Cai Xin met his gaze and then she suddenly said, “Zhang Heran, let’s give it a shot!”

Zhang Heran’s face was sullen, the emotions in his eyes undecipherable, “Give what a shot?”

Cai Xin looked directly into his eyes: “Us!”

Zhang Heran’s jaw tightened. This time, he was enraged, “Cai Xin, what the hell do you treat me as? A tool to escape Liu Yishuang?! Is your heart a rock? Do you really feel nothing?” He stormed off in a fit of anger.

Looking at his tense back and angry strides, Cai Xin panicked. It really made one be at a loss of what to do when someone who never seemed to get angry at you was suddenly angry.

From that day on, Cai Xin contacted Zhang Heran, confused, but it was to no avail.

She called, he wouldn’t accept; she texted, he wouldn’t reply.

She went to the company across the road to enquire which renovation company Zhang Heran was working at. It took a lot of effort before she finally heard that Zhang Heran didn’t belong to the renovation company, he was the rumoured genius designer.

Cai Xin suddenly felt something click in her head, but she didn’t know what.

She went to the design company to investigate but the boss told her emotionally, “At the end of the day, our company was too small to contain this great god! He resigned last week.”

Cai Xin was dumbfounded! Zhang Heran crashed into her life out of thin air, she was already so used to having him around. She had never thought there would come a day he would vanish into thin air and vanish in a way no one could find him.

Cai Xin suddenly realized that she was indeed despicable. When something was within her line of sight, she didn’t cherish the opportunity; when that something couldn’t be seen anymore, only then did she feel endless remorse.

She couldn’t find Zhang Heran. She was upset and had no one to vent to. She used to have Yue Sisi by her side, but unfortunately their relations had been severed. She could only upload her ramblings onto Weibo to take things off her chest.

A few days later, Yue Sisi suddenly came to find her.

Cai Xin didn’t think she had it in her to very calmly interact with someone she had severed ties with so messily. Yue Sisi no longer laughed and talked hysterically, she looked sorrowful instead. She told Cai Xin, “For so many years, I faked liking you even though I hated you inside, it was really a waste of time and energy. In fact, the person I should hate the most is myself!”

Her repentance softened Cai Xin’s heart.

“Forget it.”

Yue Sisi smiled again. She smiled and said, “You’re actually really annoying, you’re always so kind like a saint. But I should’ve seen how narrow-minded and wretched I was!” Her smile faded, she told Cai Xin, “During our time together, I have never done anything nice for you. I decided it was time I did. If you still trust me, then listen to what I say. Zhang Heran has secretly been in love with you since forever. Don’t be surprised, go take a look at his Weibo. You’ll understand everything. Remember to look at it in order starting from when he was in university.”

Yue Sisi told Cai Xin Zhang Heran’s Weibo username – ‘Diligently Eating Cai (Vegetables)’.

Cai Xin suppressed her shock and went to Zhang Heran’s Weibo profile. When she opened Zhang Heran’s profile, she felt goosebumps through her whole body. She arrived at his posts from university and started looking at them one by one.

“Bored. It’s self-study every day and I have to paint every day. Fortunately, the scenery from the second floor is great.”

“A grandma came begging downstairs today. Many senior girls passed by and they all gave fifty cents. Only one girl didn’t give her anything. The other girls told the girl, Cai Xin, you’re so cold-blooded. I also felt she was cold-blooded compared to the other girls.”

“The Senior Sister called Cai Xin is really weird. She came downstairs again, holding a pile of old clothes and food. On top of that, she gave the old grandma a hundred dollars.”

“The weather’s getting colder. The group of Senior Sisters are talking again downstairs. They’re so noisy. They’re talking about the homeless person across the street, saying that the weather’s so cold, he’s so pitiful. That girl called Cai Xin remained silent. The other girls say she’s becoming more cold-blooded. She’s indeed a little strange.”

“The Senior Sister called Cai Xin actually brought out a blanket and gave it to the homeless person when no one was around. How interesting.”

“She always gives off the vibe that she doesn’t care, but when no one’s around, she would silently do good without measure. How can there be such an idiot?”

“Haha, I found her Weibo! What a funny username. Let me change my username too. From today, I will diligently eat ‘Cai’.”
