Chapter 11 – “I started liking you.”

Cai Xin finally realized the reason Zhang Heran had come to work here: he had wanted to learn from this genius. It was unfortunate that she didn’t know what this genius’s name was.

During a date with Liu Yishuang, Yue Sisi called Cai Xin. Cai Xin thought that Yue Sisi was the world’s most formidable woman because she could always make something that was clearly a b*tchy insult sound mild and tactful like two good friends who hadn’t seen each other for a long time.

Yue Sisi smiled to the phone, warmly inquiring about her well-being, “Cai Xin~ don’t be too smug. If a man doesn’t confess to you directly, he’s clearly only playing with you! It is all but an illusion, nothing good will come out of it most of the time!”

Cai Xin had wanted to refute and argue but she stuffed her words back to her mouth. She knew Yue Sisi like the back of her hand. The more she argued, the happier Yue Sisi would be with herself. She used to make allowances for her, resulting in Yue Sisi’s undermining attitude. Now, she decided she wouldn’t make allowances for her anymore.

Cai Xin replied to Yue Sisi, “Ok, understood. Thanks.” With her being so gentle, Yue Sisi felt like she was pounding into a cotton ball with full power instead.

However, Cai Xin thought carefully about what Yue Sisi said. She decided she had to find a time to ask Liu Yishuang whether this time he was staying for long. And also whether he was playing with her or actually had other ideas.

Before going to sleep, Cai Xin laid on the bed scrolling Weibo. She accidentally saw an advertisement saying the most brilliant artist in the field of international design was going to hold an exhibition in her city next week. She couldn’t restrain her excitement. She sat up in bed and ran to the computer to buy the ticket. This was someone she had looked up to since she could remember, so much so that even if she had graduated and wasn’t working in the field, her blood boiled when she saw her idol’s name. However, she was too late. The tickers were already sold out. She was crestfallen as if she had had her heart broken. Despite the fact that she had never dated anyone before.

Cai Xin uploaded her frustrations onto Weibo, “I’m really sad I couldn’t buy tickets to see my idol. If someone can make a ticket for his exhibition appear in front of me, I am willing to fearlessly give up my life for the cause!”

After wallowing in her depression for a while, she laid back in bed and went to sleep/

After getting off work the next day, to Cai Xin’s surprise, she saw Zhang Heran at the entrance to her company. He looked much more put-together than he did the last time she saw him as a construction worker.

Zhang Heran led her to the downstairs cafe. Cai Xin asked him what matters he had with her. Zhang Heran took out two tickets for the famous designer’s exhibit from his pocket.

Cai Xin was shocked, “Where did you get the tickets?!”

Zhang Heran cocked an eyebrow and said, “The artist himself gave it to me.”

Cai Xin couldn’t believe it, “Don’t lie! The artist wouldn’t be that easy-going and give tickets to a construction worker!”

Zhang Heran didn’t agree, “Whether or not he was the one who gave me the tickets doesn’t matter. All you need to tell me is, do you want it?”

Cai Xin nodded like a woodpecker. She was so excited that she stretched out her hand, wanting to take the two tickets into her hands.

Zhang Heran only let her grab one.

Cai Xin’s face morphed into an astonished look, “Why are you only giving me one?”

Zhang Heran curled his lips into a sneer, “If I give both to you, what about myself?”

Cai Xin was speechless. She thought that she could have both tickets and in her head had even planned to invite Liu Yishuang to come with her.

But right now…

“You’re going too?” Cai Xin asked doubtfully.

Zhang Heran answered as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, “Yes.”

Cai Xin asked, “With me?”

Zhang Heran retorted, “Something wrong?”

Cai Xin frowned and thought, “I always feel like something’s not right here…”

Zhang Heran looked at her and said with a baritone voice, “Cai Xin, if I told you that after those two agreements, I started liking you, what will you do?”

Cai Xin paused and laughed, “Don’t mess around. What we have between us are purely monetary transactions!”

Zhang Heran said earnestly, “I can return the money to you.”

Cai Xin stopped, “As if! I’m scared you’ll starve and die.”
