Chapter 10 – The Genius Designer

Yue Sisi laughed at him, “Little Junior Brother, you saw yourself, right? No one can compare to Liu Yishuang! She clearly has no feelings towards you, I don’t know what you see in her.”

Zhang Heran looked at her quietly and chuckled, “Either way, it’s not her tendency to steal things from her friends using love as an excuse.”

Yue Sisi smiled indifferently, “You think I’m overdoing it? No, no, their family owes me.” She looked at Zhang Heran playfully, “I’m genuinely curious, why do you like her so much?”

Zhang Heran’s eyes became tender, his eyes glazed over as if he was reminiscing a warm memory from the past. He took out his phone, turned it on and handed it to Yue Sisi, “Maybe you’ll understand after seeing this.”

Yue Sisi took the phone and looked through what was on the screen. Her expression gradually changed. Done reading, she looked up, a little shocked, “Fine, I admit. Amongst the men around Cai Xin, you might just be the only one I can’t capture.”

From the moment she walked away from Yue Sisi, Cai Xin could only hear one thing ringing in her head: Liu Yishuang was back.

Liu Yishuang was back! But she scrolled through his Weibo every day, how could she not know that he was back? How did Yue Sisi of all people find out? Maybe they were still calling each other. As Cai Xin speculated, her heart clenched slightly.

She suddenly remembered that the selfie that Liu Yishuang posted yesterday was taken at the airport. She felt that it wasn’t that unfair that she lost to Yue Sisi that year. She always a bit slow to hear the news, her reaction was always slower than other people’s.

She arrived home. Cai Xin looked through her contacts. Liu Yishuang’s name stood firmly as the topmost contact on her phone because she had added an ‘A’ in front of his name. It was the number that Liu Yishuang had used before going abroad, she wasn’t sure he was still using the same number now. Cai Xin stretched out her finger and retracted it, stretching it out again and hesitating over and over. Every time she was about to touch the green dial button, her finger would retract as if she was going to get electrocuted. She became more and more nervous against this number that she didn’t even know was still in use.

Suddenly the phone vibrated and a phone call came in. Cai Xin’s eyes widened, unable to believe what was happening right now. The person calling was ‘A Liu Yishuang’! When she accepted the call, her fingertips and her entire body were trembling. Through the phone, Liu Yishuang’s voice had not changed at all. Hearing his voice again, Cai Xin seemed to see the bright and sunny boy walking on the school’s grassy path.

Liu Yishuang told her over the phone, “Hai, Cai Xin, I’m back! Are you free tomorrow? Let’s have a meal together!”

Cai Xin felt her entire body was numb.

Since Liu Yishuang called Cai Xin that day, they would have a meal together every three to five days. Although Liu Yishuang didn’t say much, his eyes that looked at Cai Xin with warmth made her feel like maybe her life was going to turn for the better for real this time.

Every time she came back from her date with Liu Yishuang, she would write every little detail down on a Weibo post. She fantasized that under that warm smile, he had special affection towards her. She couldn’t help but reminisce his smile on repeat and record the different feelings she felt in her reminiscence. Maybe, after there were no more new feelings to note down, her fantasies and imagination would turn into reality. After all, it was a place reserved only for her, no one would see this. She could express her emotions however she wanted.

Because of Liu Yishuang, Cai Xin had started paying more attention to her appearance and she became nicer towards everyone. Xiao Mei the receptionist asked her what happened to her, “Did you do the deed with that xiao xian rou?” Cai Xin realized then that she had not seen Zhang Heran for a long time. The renovation of the building across the road had been completed and she hadn’t noticed.

Cai Xin was also someone with an educational background in art and design. Driven by this, she was very curious about the results of the renovation. She ran over and took a look in her free time. The moment she saw it, she was blown away. She felt that the designer’s talent could only be described with one word: terrifying. She asked the staff there, “Who did the designs for your renovation?”

The staff replied to her, “I heard it’s someone from your university, an exceedingly brilliant genius. I don’t remember the name but it was English. Our Boss said that under normal circumstances, the genius would never have taken this measly project. For some reason, our company struck gold this time and he took this project up. No, he didn’t only take it up, he also came to inspect the progress from time to time. Our boss was so shocked!”
