Chapter 2784: A Coincidence (4)

Translator:EndlessFantasy TranslationEditor:EndlessFantasy Translation

Although the restaurant was full, the staff seemed eager for the young man to stay. “Gentleman, would you be open to sharing your table with other guests?” They kindly offered.

They then asked the guests in the restaurant, “Is there anyone who would like to share a table with this gentleman? I can give you a discount for sharing the table.”

“Me!”

“Here!”

“Come here. I can share the table with him.”

All of a sudden, about seven or eight people stood up, offering to share their table in an eager manner. Apparently, the young man’s beauty had conquered the hearts of many – both men and women were interested.

Gu Xijiu continued to enjoy her drink without volunteering herself. In fact, everything that happened in the restaurant made her laugh. These days, people were so easily obsessed with one’s appearance. Nonetheless, she wondered which table would the young man finally go to.

Of many that stood up, there was a very pretty lady that was seated next to Gu Xijiu’s table. Coincidentally, the lady was also wearing a red dress that evening, so her outfit matched with the young man’s red robes perfectly.

Like Gu Xijiu, the lady was sitting alone too. Some men tried to ask if they could sit with her before, but she turned them all down with an uninviting and stern look. Nevertheless, this time, she was the one who made the invitation to the young man.

The young man slowly walked towards the lady’s direction. Color bloomed in her cheeks as he approached her table. She was excited that the young man was about to accept her invitation. “Gentleman, please…”

The young man did not wait for her to finish before walking past her table as if she never existed. He stopped in front of Gu Xijiu’s table and asked, “Lady, may I join your table?”

Gu Xijiu was surprised. Her original appearance was disguised under a spell, so she carried the look of an average maiden. She was not hideous, but not exactly attractive. Her looks were considered common, and her presence could be easily dismissed in a crowd.

Gu Xijiu thought that the ordinary look she carried would be a safe disguise for her. Never had she thought that the young man would come up to her all of a sudden to share a table?

She touched her face intuitively to make sure that she still had the appearance of an ordinary maiden and was relieved that her true appearance was not exposed. Perplexed, she then looked at the young man.

He was still standing right across her table and looking at her smilingly. She could not tell what he was thinking from his expression but found it rather odd. His face was, however, was very attractive, regardless of his expression.

Nonetheless, Gu Xijiu was not interested in a relationship. She only thought that the young man was a little odd. “I did not invite you. Look around, many did,” she gently reminded him.

The young man finally smiled and asked, “Why didn’t you?”

Gu Xijiu did not answer.

“Aren’t you attracted by my appearance?”

“Frankly, I am not,” she answered.

She had seen many beautiful men all her life but was never interested in any. The creator of the universe had to be austere without any selfish desire.

The young man took out his fan and waved it in his hand. “That is right. I cannot eat well under their intense gaze of admiration, so I will not join their tables. You are not friendly, but you are the kind of table mate that I need. I shall sit here, then.”

He gave the chair a quick sweep, so as to flick away any dust from the seat. He then sat down right away.

Gu Xijiu did not many any comments since the man was only there to share the table, so she did not really mind.

The young man proceeded to order a few dishes, and the food did not take long to be served on his side of the table. He took a look at the plates and bowls that were not neatly placed and waved his hand to cast a spell to rearrange the dishes into two lines.
