The Duchess and the Devil - Chapter 69.2
– Am I not the only one? “Derrick pulled her towards him and bit her. – A? Isn’t it the only one?
– What are you doing?! – Judith’s body shuddered, covered in goosebumps. “I gave it to him every time because I didn’t get along with my husband.”
“But now you have me.”
– Are you jealous? – Judith asked incredulously, trying her best to avoid the stone grip.
And although ladies give scarves to their beloved men, Vincent is her blood brother, which is why jealousy should not arise. Of course, this could be Hannibal in the body of a man, but for him a scarf is only a sign of care for a family member. And although it didn’t start out of nowhere, Judith did it every year. And Derrick’s actions now seemed too absurd.
– What if so?
– Are you serious? He is my brother, a member of the family.
But when Judith met the red eyes, she felt a headache. Derrick really knew how to make a person shut up or speak – with just one look.
The gaze penetrated inside, suppressing your will. A hot, unpleasant feeling, as if she was not the owner of her own body.
“You… In any case, you’re my husband now, aren’t you?” – After a little agony, Judith finally gathered her strength and answered. – And if I give him a scarf, this fact will not change.
Having said this, she quickly moved away from the demon, fleeing. And although Judith felt a strange trepidation inside, she could not let her guard down: the competition would soon begin. And there is a lot to do before them.
Approaching the tent with the artist’s image, Judith looked at the guards. When they recognized her, they immediately turned away.
– Brother? – Vincent, listening to the assistant’s report, turned his head.
The assistant, who also knew the Duchess well, smiled and said hello, after which he left, leaving them alone.
– Something happened?
Judith took a neatly folded handkerchief from her pocket and handed it to her brother. Meanwhile, a huge pile of fabric had already accumulated on the table. Obviously, the man’s fans have already taken care of everything. Moreover, Vincent never asked her for such gifts.
– Oh, you’ve already received a lot of scarves…
“Oh,” the brother grinned and took the fabric from Judith’s hands.
And although he barely touched her hand with his fingers, the feeling of warmth remained on the pads for a long time.
“But I still like to receive them from you.”
– You should get married already.
Vincent, who resembled Judith in appearance, had a neat and very straightforward character. In addition, he had the status of Marquis, which is why he was considered the best groom in the Empire. However, the nobles who wanted to marry their daughter to him were tired of refusals, because Vincent did not give up this place so easily.
