Judith’s body trembled, she tried in vain to grab onto something. As Duchess waited for Derrick in the room, a large hand suddenly grabbed her, covered her mouth, and pulled a bag over her head. The girl was immediately thrown over her shoulder, blocking any movement.

Of course, in this position, Judith could not understand where she was being taken. At some point, she felt terrible weakness when she saw the darkness. And this was not the artificially created darkness that the Duchess had already encountered. It seemed as if the kidnapper was now descending a wide staircase somewhere underground.

The body fell to the ground and another hand touched it. But unlike the previous rudeness, this was a careful, gentle treatment.

-Did you bring it?

The voice touched my ear and seemed familiar.

However, in such a situation it was impossible to concentrate and say who it belonged to. My head didn’t want to work or think at all. As Judith moaned in pain, the ropes that bound her loosened and the bag was removed altogether. It was only at that moment that everything finally became bright.

However, “bright” is too unreasonable a word for this situation. The red light, creating a dangerous and intimate atmosphere, stretched on like a red light district. Blinking slowly, Judith finally managed to get used to it and find the person approaching her. She realized what kind of voice it was:

– Your Majesty…

The vulgar light flickering in the darkness darkened one side of his face. It seemed as if he was on fire.

The man took one step closer. Judith, flinching reflexively, on the contrary, took a step back. A subtle tension hung in the atmosphere. The Duchess would never have thought that she would meet the Emperor here, because she was afraid to see him in the banquet hall, from which she tried so zealously to escape.

At that moment, Judith was overcome with fear. Even if it’s not Hannibal, which is certainly a terrible thing, the Emperor is dangerous in his own right.

“I’m sorry I brought you here without saying a word.” But since your husband didn’t want to let you go for anything, so I had to use a rough method.

– Why am I here?

– Your husband is pretending to have lost his memory and is trying to deceive you.

– In terms of? Our relationship has been good lately… And, as you yourself said, he really has lost his memory.

-Did you hear this from your husband? – he drawled slowly.

The fingers, hovering in the air all this time, squeezed Judith’s pale cheek, then stroked it. Although it was only his hand, it seemed as if it was a blade. The gesture was light enough to make the Duchess flinch. She didn’t understand at all what the Emperor meant now, so she hardly breathed.

“I already said the other day: I never show weakness to others,” the man’s message instantly changed and he grabbed Judith by the neck, as if he was ready to break it at any moment. “I watched him for a long time. And now is the time to deal with the Duke.

Deal with Derrick? For what? Why?

A series of disorganized but logical questions arose in Judith’s mind. However, the only thing she could understand was that the Emperor was not talking about a demon, but about his late husband.

Although the thought that Hannibal took her hostage in order to lure Derrick out haunted her. After all, Judith did not see a single objective reason for the Emperor to treat the Duke in this way. But still, Killard’s mood was a little calming. After all, he himself speaks specifically about his late spouse, and not about the demon. Which means, quite possibly, he might not have been Hannibal.

Judith spoke carefully.

“I don’t quite understand what you’re talking about… My husband never said anything about Your Majesty.”

The Emperor looked at Judith with an attentive gaze, as if trying to understand whether this was true. Judith did not avoid his eyes, although she felt that her mouth was already completely dry. She understood that if she looked away, the Emperor would think that what was said was a lie.

“Then… You really don’t know?”

His voice softened.

The Emperor stroked Judith’s cheek again, moving to the shell of her ear. When Derrick did this, Duchess felt calm. But Killard’s touch caused terrible discomfort, as if ten bugs were crawling over his face. But Judith tried her best not to frown.

“Don’t you know that your husband contributed to my pleasures?”
