The Gold Maimai kept its distance from Mani as it went to attack her with its two shiny golden tentacles.

That Gold Maimai might’ve run out of stamina to escape from us.
Its last hope, the hobgoblin had been killed by me too.
Though I hate to say this, it seemed I have to thank Gilbert for chasing after it, and exhausting more of its stamina.

I steadied my breathing.
I too have almost reached my limit after the battle-to-death against the hobgoblin and using 《Petit Dimordi》.

I entered a stance with 《Bersera》.

「《Fire Clad》！」

The blade of my sword was clad in flames.
With this, that Gold Maimai’s 《Moon Reflection》 couldn’t completely protect itself from my attack.
The only way to protect itself that remained was to dodge my attack. Even so, it couldn’t escape from the heat.

「《Petit Flame》！」

Mani conjured flames with her 《Kaguna》 , and the flame went towards the Gold Maimai.
The Gold Maimai clumsily avoided her attack.
But, that was Mani’s intention all along.
Her aim was to make the Gold Maimai inch closer to me who had been waiting with 《Bersera》.

「Take this…. 《Gluttony’s Edge》!」

The blade that was clad in flames pierced through the Gold Maimai’s body.

「GIAAAAAAAAA!」

Though the blade passed through its body, the flame that was coiling around the blade baked the Gold Maimai’s body from the inside.
The Gold Maimai who landed on the ground had finally realized that it couldn’t win against us and tried to escape from this place.
Naturally, I wouldn’t let it wander even deeper into the third floor after chasing it all the way from the second floor.

「YOU CAN NOT ESCAPE!」

Mani swung her 《Kaguna》 upwards, sending the Gold Maimai into the air.

「GI…. GI, GI…!」

The Gold Maimai’s body shivered mid-air.

「YOUR 《MOON REFLECTION》 IS MINE!」

I followed Mani’s attack with one last attack with my flaming sword… and combined it with 《Gluttony’s Edge》.
The moment my sword pierced into the Gold Maimai’s liquified body, I stole its 《Moon Reflection》.

I then swung down 《Bersera》
The Gold Maimai’s head was bisected in-half, its bodily liquid was flowing out from its wound.
I…. WON!

「Haa…….. Haa….. We…. WON……..」

What a tenacious fella.
But we somehow managed to defeat it.

Smiling brightly, Mani’s lifted her hand into the air.
We did a high-five.

『Ooh! So that’s how humans celebrate their victory huh! Though I heard about this rite a long time ago, I ended up forgetting about it! Me too, let me do it too!!!』
「Sorry but, I’ll collapse due to mana exhaustion if I summoned you again…」

『It’s not like you need me to fight anyway! C’mon, call me quickly! I just want to do that high five!』

「Sorry… that really is impossible. I mean, look, I’m just a low level adventurer with scrawny amounts of mana.」

『Ha~h! What a boorish man! It seems the one who picked me up was really a petty person! You better not be deceiving me about this you know!』

I used 《Imu》 on myself while listening to Beelzebub’s grumbling.
We’ve subjugated 3 goblins, 2 hobgoblins, and the Gold Maimai.
Though some bits of their Odo flew into Mani, that amount should be enough to cause tremendous growth in her.

The treatment between a 【Lv:14】 adventurer and a 【Lv:20】 adventurer was like heaven and earth.
A majority of 【Lv:14】 adventurers were hunting D-rank demon beasts but, their skills were lacking behind the true adventurers.
But, once an adventurer raised their level to 【Lv:20】, they’re considered as skilled individuals who could solo up to D-rank demon beasts with ease.

Even though 【Lv:20】 adventurers were still in the low-rank category, the mid-rank adventurers themselves rarely showed up in the adventurer’s guild.
The reason for this situation was because the majority of them chose to enter the army which guaranteed a more stable income.

Generally, mid-rank adventurers were people who were above【Lv:30】, and high-rank adventurers were those above 【Lv:40】.
But again, high-rank adventurers would rather enter the army, thus only the oddballs were the ones who were left behind. They were the ones who liked to wander around from place to place rather than stay in the army.
Currently, the highest rank adventurer in Romburgh adventurer’s guild was a 【Lv:30】 adventurer.

「What about you, Mani?」

「My level rose by five levels at once. My role in this battle wasn’t that much but…. My level rose so much since I had a low level to begin with. I guess I can do more as a blacksmith now that I reached【Lv:12】.」

Mani said so with a delighted look on her face.

「If that’s the case, can I check your level with my 《Imu》?」

「N-No, that question is….」

I shook my head.
I was worried whether my face was flushed red due to anxiety right now.
Mani then wore her usual impish smile as she looked at my face.
The evaluation by the《Wisdom God, Imu》 was private for every person..
That was especially true for adventurers, letting other people see that evaluation could mean life or death of that adventurer.
Not letting anyone but your family see your evaluation was common sense.

「T-That aside… let’s look for the battle bone. Although retrieving battle bone from so many demons was really troublesome, we can sell it for a really good price.」

I began the dismantling work to retrieve the battle bones of the goblins and the Gold Maimai.
I only have one dismantling knife with me, so I let Mani take a rest.
Though Mani had asked me 「You’re even more tired than me, right?」, my pride wouldn’t allow me to rest on the side while letting Mani, a woman, to dismantle the goblin.
It was a messy, dirty, and bloody job.
