Sweet Husband Pampers His Wife - Chapter 28
Chapter 28 – First Day of Work
“Teacher Ji, class is over. Can I ask you for help?” The woman wearing a tight skirt said. She was probably a teacher too.
Ji Nanfeng glanced at Mo Lixin who was sitting up straight. Then, he said to the woman, “What’s the matter? I probably don’t have time though. Sorry to disappoint.” He slightly smiled, saying tactfully. He was clearly rejecting her, but from the way he was saying it, it didn’t make anyone upset.
As expected, one needed to know how to talk to get anywhere in life.
“The lightbulb in my apartment is broken. You know that I live alone, so it’s inconvenient for me to do a lot of things. I live in the teachers’ residence building and it’s not far from here. Can I trouble you to go there with me?” The woman wearing a tight skirt said.
Although she was carrying documents, it was unsure why but she purposefully moved the documents down her chest a bit, revealing her full breasts. Indeed, she had a great figure. Mo Lixin thought.
Right now, Mo Lixin just found out why she didn’t like the woman before. As it seemed like, it was women’s sixth sense.
Ji Nanfeng didn’t say anything. Seeing that he was expressionless, Mo Lixin suddenly thought that she must’ve disturbed him. She felt a slight pang in her heart and used all of her strength to stand up, wanting to leave.
She didn’t know why she ended up coming here and looking for him. Could it be that she was not satisfied with his sudden change of attitude and wanted more? It seemed like she had forgotten some things due to him being nice to her. One day, he would remember everything and not just what he had forgotten, but also his feelings buried in his heart.
Mo Lixin was about to walk away when she heard Ji Nanfeng’s faint voice, “I need to go back to my wife. How about you ask her if that’s fine?” As he said this, he held Mo Lixin’s hands.
“She… she… is your wife… Teacher Ji… you’re married!” The teacher wearing a tight skirt wore an incredulous expression.
“Mhm! We haven’t held a wedding yet. When the time comes, I’ll invite you.” Ji Nanfeng said, fitting to the occasion as if he hadn’t seen her startled and upset expression.
“No… no need…!” Once the female teacher said this, she walked away. It was unclear whether she was replying “no need” towards the wedding invitation or Ji Nanfeng going to her apartment to help change the lightbulb.
Mo Lixin glanced at their tightly linked hands and was slightly stunned.
“Why did you decide to come to my class? How was it, boring?” Ji Nanfeng changed the topic in order to adjust the atmosphere.
“Not at all. It’s pretty good. I didn’t expect you to be that humorous and interesting.” Mo Lixin quickly adjusted to it and then smiled as she answered.
“Then come more often in the future.” Ji Nanfeng held her hands and they walked one behind the other, half a step away. The sunlight sprinkled on Ji Nanfeng while Mo Lixin was behind him, unsure what she was thinking about.
Within a few days of the interview, Mo Lixin got a notification that she could start coming to work. She was incredibly happy and woke up early, even making breakfast for the first time a while.
Ji Nanfeng faintly realized an issue. It might be because of his rebirth that a lot of things changed unconsciously. The most obvious was clearly Mo Lixin’s personality. In her past life, she was always timid and shy. Yet, in this life, she was more sensitive. Although she was a bit muddled in her ways, she also became a bit smarter. Towards some people or matters, she became tougher.
Yet, it was because of these changes that made him like Mo Lixin even more. Just this change could help protect herself better.
“Why don’t you sleep some more?” Ji Nanfeng who came back from his morning jog asked.
“Didn’t you go out early for a morning jog too?” Mo Lixin said coincidentally. After their days spent together, she slowly believed that Ji Nanfeng was genuinely being nice to her. She even believed that if he regained his memories one day, he wouldn’t be as cold and ruthless as he was in the past. But in front of him, she couldn’t help but be careful and cautious.
After breakfast, Mo Lixin went to report at the company.
The location of the company was pretty good. It was in the center of the city and it was flourishing and bustling with people. What was rare was that the branch building wasn’t like any other buildings. Instead of being situated in a grand building with dozens of floors, it was in a detached three-floor building. In a place where land was extremely expensive, it was quite difficult to find a short building like this in the center of the city.
The person arranging her work was an uncle in her 40s. He had pretty long hair and it was braided. His face was neat with no beard. He was an enthusiastic one and Mo Lixin didn’t find any pressure or weight while communicating with this person. Through the conversation, she found out that his name was Chen Sihao and he was her temporary entry teacher. He was to teach her the workflow and things she needed to pay attention to. In simple words, he was her superior.
“Ok, Xiao Mo. This is it. We’re quite casual with our work here. As long as you have good enough designs and creativity, you will make your way up the positions. If you don’t understand anything in the future, come directly to ask me. I’ll be sitting here.” He pointed towards an office desk not far from Mo Lixin.
