Chapter 2 – Inmate 0852

Inaudible chuckles came from above her head. She calmed herself down, stepped forward and repeated, “Raise your arms to the side.”

After a few seconds, the man raised his arms lazily.

Lu Yin’s eyes shifted back and forth. She repeatedly glanced at the wall-like chest in front of her, the stiff chest muscles seemingly glistening in the light. There was a black dragon tattoo on it. The strong dragon was wrapped around the man’s right shoulder. The dragon’s head was on his chest, its beard fluttering vividly and its eyes piercing through the looker’s with an intimidating gaze. Its scales were evenly distributed, distinctly layered. The overall tattoo was black and gray, with the exception of green orbs that had a particularly cruel energy to them.

Lu Yin moved robotically, clearly not as calm as she looked, and messed up a few times. She felt that there was a pair of eyes always following her. Unlike those of the previous two men, it was a dangerous and aggressive scrutiny.

Waist, bust, shoulder width, collar, her eyes inadvertently followed upwards and she finally saw his face. The man’s eyes didn’t blink as they met hers, his expression was a little playful and the corners of his mouth were curved upwards.

The first thing she noticed was a two-centimeter scar that extended from the arch of his right eyebrow to his temple, slightly pale in color in sharp contrast with his bronze skin. His eyes were deep-set and prominent, eyebrows evenly separated, the bridge of his nose straight and his lips thin and moist. That combined with his piercing gaze emanated some indescribable wildness.

In short, most people would think he was a handsome man… but she couldn’t look past his violent aura.

Lu Yin quickly looked away and leaned slightly to measure his hips.

She spread her hands and wound them through his body, folding her arms to get an accurate measurement with the tape. In just a few seconds, because they were too close to each other, that scent entered her nose again, this time several times stronger than before.

Lu Yin lightly cleared her throat, looking away.

The tape measure circled around the man’s hips and connected at his side. A voice came from above her head, “Miss, it’s too tight.”

The man’s tone was slow, lazy; his voice rough and gruff like gravel, hoarse and not good to listen to.

Lu Yin trembled, her hand tightened around the tape measure. The rest of the prisoners laughed loudly, there was someone teasing, “Brother Qiang, is it as tight as your hands2 [javascript:void(0)]Insinuating that he’s stingy with money?”

It was followed by peals of laughter. The previously patient and restrained air finally broke with this joke.

“Quiet.” The guard yelled, slamming his hand on the iron door a few times. “Everybody, stand properly. 0852, dial it down. You’re almost out, don’t make any more trouble.”

Silence returned but there were still a few prisoners whispering amongst each other.

The man licked his lower lip and lowered his hand. The woman in front of him had flushed cheeks, her eyelashes flickering, breathing shallowly and quietly.

Her hand was still stretched outwards, her movements stiff. She couldn’t bear the anger in her heart, whispering, “Any looser and your pants will fall off.”

Her voice was low and others couldn’t hear, but the man had heard. He smirked.

Lu Yin stood up. She didn’t dare look into his eyes, only looking in his general direction but not turning away either. After measuring the length of his trousers, she quickly moved on to the other prisoners, not looking up at him again.

The three were very efficient and they finished everything within twenty minutes. Lu Yin packed up and prepared to leave. She didn’t dare turn her head back but she couldn’t help but think back to the Jiaolong on the man’s shoulder. It was commandeering and extremely arrogant, yet it also looked like a pet he tamed lying on those broad shoulders, on the prowl.

Lu Yin shook her head. She would never come back to this god-forsaken place for a second time even if she was beaten to death.
