Chapter 30: Apprentice

The reason why she was so surprised was because only acknowledged interns went to the medical relief center.

Grayam also thought to himself. ‘Is this too fast?’ But he shook his head. ‘No.’ If it was this girl, there wouldn’t be any problems sending her to the medical relief center. ‘I don’t have anything to teach her here, and it’ll be better to teach her while looking at the patients at the medical relief center.’

Also….

‘I’m curious what she’ll show me at the relief center.’ He had a rough personality, but the medical field was his everything. So he was curious what kind of talents she would show him at the relief center.

***

That evening, at the Clarence residence…

“Elise.”

“Yes, father.”

“Is the hospital work fine?”

Elise smiled and replied.

“Yes, it’s fun.”

Actually, she wanted to be more active, but since she was an intern, there wasn’t that much she could do.

“Really? It’s not too difficult?”

“Yes, it’s fine.”

Marquis El sighed. He wanted his daughter to quit because he didn’t want her to be tired, but that wasn’t happening. Rather, he could see how happy his daughter was when going to the hospital. ‘Anyway. Those bastards at Teresa Hospital.’ Secretly, he had looked into Elise’s life at the hospital and he was shocked.

They neglected his precious daughter in the derelict patients’ ward?! It was because he hid the fact that she was the daughter of the Clarence family, but he still became angry. ‘If only Elise didn’t stop me. I would’ve fired them all.’

The doctors at Teresa Hospital wouldn’t know. That if it wasn’t for his daughter, people would’ve been dropped like flies. Especially that Grayam guy. ‘To make a young girl take care of those patients!’

It had been 10 days since she had been going to the hospital. Her frail body had lost more weight. ‘I want to make her quit, but since she likes it that much. Huu.’ He was frustrated.

“So, where are you learning tomorrow?”

“The medical relief center.”

“What? The medical relief center?”

Marquis El’s eyebrows twitched. He knew what kind of place the medical center was. It was a grim place with all kinds of patients! ‘They’re sending that weak child to the medical relief center? These bastards!’ He wanted to summon Viscount Gote right away and ask him exactly how they were ‘educating.’ And to fire that Grayam! If his daughter didn’t say this while smiling, he would’ve done that immediately.

“I’ll go and learn a lot, father. I can do a good job, so don’t worry too much.”

Her voice was telling him to trust her.

“…!”

Marquis El sighed again.

“…Elise.”

“Yes, father.”

“If someone makes you tired, let me know right away. I won’t leave them alone!”

He spoke like he would cause a storm in the hospital if someone was rude to her. At her father’s love, Elise couldn’t help but make an awkward smile.

***

Elise put her father’s concerns behind and started to work at the medical relief center.

“My name is Rose. Today is my first day as an intern. Please watch over me well.”

“…!”

Everyone in the medical relief center looked at her in surprise.

‘Who is that?’

‘She looks like a lady from a noble family, but an intern? Why at the medical relief center?’

The medical relief center was a place for people with a lot of skills and experience to work because of the critical condition of conditions. But that girl?

“Lady, I think you came to the wrong place. This is a relief center for hurt or critical patients only.”

The leader of the apprentices spoke. His tone was careful looking at the doll-like but still elegant girl. But the girl nodded her head.

“Yes, I know. My teacher said that starting from today I should work at the medical relief center.”

“Your teacher?”

He spoke in a questioning voice. Then, the voice of a young man was heard from behind him.

“It’s me. I’m this child’s teacher.”

Everyone looked in surprise.

“Professor Fallon!”

A rough personality, and a handsome face. It was Baron Grayom de Fallon.

“Hansen.”

“Yes, professor!”

The leader of the apprentices answered nervously. Grayam was tossed here and there by his superiors, but to the apprentices, he was like a god. Everyone admired his skills because he was called a young genius.

“Starting from today, this child will be taught at the medical relief center. I’ll teach her, but if I’m absent, you should take care of her instead of me.”

Hansen had questioning thoughts. ‘That girl will be taught at the relief center? Can she do it?’ Education at the relief center wasn’t just a simple education. Apprentices helped doctors, and actually participated in diagnosing questions. You had to see a lot of critical patients but….could that young girl take it? But he nodded since it was the orders of a respected professor.

“Yes, sir!”

“Alright. I’ll be at a conference, so show her where the supplies are.”

“Yes, sir!”
