Petite Mother of Four Big Shots - Chapter 33.1
Chapter 33: She Is Different, I Like Her! (1)
“It’s nothing.” The police uncle turned his eyes to Gu Yizhou and noticed his surgical gown. Only then did it dawn upon him that the other party was a doctor or a doctor who had just left the operating room. Now, reconsidering the situation he immediately understood.
“Thank you for that earlier.” The police uncle pointed to the driver, who had calmed down under the reassurance of his colleague. “If you hadn’t stopped it, it might have…”
The driver raised his bloodshot eyes to look at Gu Yuanyuan and expressed no words of gratitude. He looked numb and resigned, perhaps at the thoughts of what lay in the future. Naturally, he blamed the girl for stopping him.
The policeman was still reprimanding him, saying something about how he should think about his parents, his children, and that as long as he was alive, anything was possible.
Gu Yuanyuan was relieved and replied to the police uncle. “I thought I would be held responsible for hitting someone.”
The police uncle’s eyes looked at her rather strangely, Gu Yizhou’s eyebrows furrowed, and Gu Yuanyuan asked directly, “Police Uncle, have you seen me before?”
Policeman: “…”
“My family name is Wu.” He held out. “I’m still young.”
Which meant not to be called uncle.
Gu Yuanyuan: “Oh!”
The police officer fell silent. He couldn’t help pondering over the strangeness he was feeling now- he had never seen Gu Yuanyuan before, yet he felt a sense of familiarity when looking at the girl as if he had known her from somewhere before.
The two parties didn’t say anything more, busying themselves with their things. Today’s matter was between the driver and the family of the victim and could only be dealt with by them. Gu Yizhou still had to do the postoperative cleaning, as for Gu Yuanyuan, she returned to her home office on the eighth floor first, accompanied by the boy.
She almost forgot about the boy whose lunch box she had snatched, but he followed her without a word.
Gu Yuanyuan always had a hard time driving people away and looking at his countenance, it was even harder for her to say something about compensating for it, feeling that after saying so, it would make her look like a scum especially.
“How about I order takeout?”
The boy turned his head for a moment and nodded. “Yes.”
Gu Yuanyuan said, “Well then, you can just wait in-”
Here…
Gu Yuanyuan didn’t get to say the last word because the boy had already raised his eyes to look at her, and that was seemingly filled with complaints by all means.
Gu Yuanyuan’s inner feeling thumped her chest as she asked, “You came to the hospital alone?”
The boy shook his head.
Gu Yuanyuan was confused, since he wasn’t alone, it wouldn’t be good to follow her around like this.
The boy looked at her silently as if he understood what she was thinking about, and said, “An old lady fainted on the road, and I helped her to get inside the hospital, then her family came and gave me a lunch box.”
Gu Yuanyuan now realized that the box lunch came from the family who appreciated his help, but this box lunch was thrown away by her.
The boy thought about the lunch box again and added. “I haven’t eaten meat for a month, I’m so famished.”
He spoke seriously, his ink-colored pupils clear and bright, like a pair of brilliantly colored glazes.
Gu Yuanyuan was startled, she had a feeling that something wasn’t quite right, and couldn’t figure it out at the moment. Alarmed that the other party hadn’t eaten meat for a month, suddenly she felt that he was very miserable, reckoning that he was very poor and couldn’t even afford to eat properly.
But looking at his clothes, even though he was dressed simply and plainly, it didn’t look like he didn’t have any money, so Gu Yuanyuan had to endure a stomach full of doubts, after all, she had thrown away the latter’s lunch box and should order take-out first.
She took out her phone and ordered takeout in front of the boy, thinking about how the boy said he was starving and specifically meat. “Is this enough?”
She put the phone in front of him and the boy looked at it carefully, his eyes curving. “Yes.”
