Petite Mother of Four Big Shots - Chapter 32.4
Chapter 32: Believed In Her Son (4)
“Don’t worry about it. It’s a terrible thing for truck drivers.” The others agreed. “It doesn’t matter if the person dies. The court will decide how much to pay as restitution. If the person lives with a disability, the truck driver will feel responsible for the rest of his life.
“Not really. It can only be said that it is very unfortunate. My hometown has such an example. It was also a car accident. The person was saved, but he was paralyzed and had to take very expensive medicines every day. Since the family couldn’t afford it, the other party had to compensate. If they don’t compensate, they would sue. But washing away a grievance is troublesome… In the end, they created such a ruckus that the driver killed the person first and then committed suicide.”
The voices of the discussion around them diminished, and Gu Yuanyuan listened with a twisted brow, continuing to see what was going on inside.
It wasn’t long before the door to the operating room opened and Gu Yuanyuan saw someone coming out, she stood on her tiptoes and realized it wasn’t Er Bao.
But the good news was announced. The operation was very successful and the person was saved.
Gu Yuanyuan breathed a sigh of relief, finding some of the people talking around her shaking their heads as if it was a very bad thing when someone who had been in a car accident was saved.
Gu Yuanyuan: “…”
She was very unhappy. She became speechless at the thought that her son was able to pull people back from death in the emergency room, while some people outside did not expect it.
Now that the operation was over, Gu Yuanyuan planned to return to the office and wait for Gu Yizhou to return.
Just as she was leaving, she noticed that outside the operating room, most of the people surrounding the doctor who came out to ask questions, there was no one around the truck driver.
His lips were moving, not knowing what was being said and he was shaking. Leaping up from the ground he quickly ran in the direction of Gu Yuanyuan.
Gu Yuanyuan’s heart jumped and yelled. “Uncle, stop him he’s going to jump!”
At the end of the corridor behind her was a window. The window was wide open, revealing the 5 storey drop below it. There was no cushion underneath, and the probability of death was high.
The uncle at the side didn’t respond at all, somehow.
Gu Yuanyuan: “…”
Damn!
As a result of this delay, the truck driver had already run past Gu Yuanyuan and brought up a chilly wind. Gu Yuanyuan subconsciously followed him, but she could not keep up with his speed. Just then, her eyes caught a glimpse of a boy holding a packed lunch and eating it sweetly.
Without a second thought, she picked up the box lunch and threw it at the back of the driver’s head without thinking.
Fortunately, the timing was good, and it hit the head immediately. There was even a big chicken leg in the lunch box that was smashed together. The driver paused, then slipped and fell to the ground with a plop.
The place where he fell was only a meter away from the window.
Suddenly, the entire corridor was silent and the people present seemed to be in a daze. After a few seconds, the driver moved and seemed to want to climb up and continue his jump. Fortunately, by now, the police had caught up and they held him down.
“Let me die! Let me die!” The driver shouted in despair.
Gu Yuanyuan breathed, shaking off the soup that had gotten on her hands when a clean paper towel was handed to her and she subconsciously took it. “Thank you.”
Looking back, it was the boy. He was holding two empty chopsticks and his mouth was still stained with oil. Looking at her on the other side he said lightly, “You threw my lunch box.”
Gu Yuanyuan was a little embarrassed: “Sorry, I will buy you another one.”
The boy didn’t say a word. However, Gu Yuanyuan thought it was not enough and said, “Then I’ll compensate you for two meals or is there anything you want to eat, my treat.”
The boy still didn’t speak and instead pointed to behind her. Gu Yuanyuan looked back. A policeman was staring at her.
“Er …”
She didn’t want to pursue the consequences of her actions. Her hand was still hurting because she threw the box lunch hard.
The police uncle looked at her intently. Gu Yuanyuan could not help but take a step back. Then suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder and Gu Yizhou’s low voice overhead: “Sergeant, What’s the problem?”
