Petite Mother of Four Big Shots - Chapter 26.3 - Going Home With Dabao (3)
Chapter 26: Going Home With Dabao (3)
After entering the interior of the West Building, Gu Yuanyuan now knew what “different from the inside” meant. Although the small foreign-style building didn’t look like much from the outside, its subtle luxury would be discovered after entering through the door.
Antique ornaments could be seen everywhere, and Gu Yuanyuan casually looked at a blue vase. As she looked at it, she felt that the material seemed familiar—as if she had seen it in before.
It should have been from two thousand years ago, so its value wouldn’t be low.
Even the vases used for arranging flowers were antiques.
The floor was covered with thick carpet, and the indoor temperature was suitable—neither too hot nor too cold and kept at either 25 or 16 degrees celsius.
Gu Yuanyuan took off her suit jacket, and Jiang Yun held it while letting her look around. As his eyes rested on her thin body, his brow slowly wrinkled.
From the entrance to the living room, it was like a corridor, and murals hung on both sides of the wall. Some were very abstract, some were very realistic, and everything was full of an artistic atmosphere.
All of these paintings were famous and full of vitality. Although Gu Yuanyuan recognized what was written, she didn’t know any of them.
If a person was allowed to visit her, they would be shocked to find that these paintings were all painted by great artists. Any pair could be auctioned for up to 100 million dollars.
One painting, however, portrayed a figure of a woman wearing a light-colored dress with long hair. The sun shined softly on her with a touch of gold, depicting her very soft temperament.
It attracted people to look at it, and her eyes seemed gentle.
The first few portraits were all famous, but this one wasn’t. Gu Yuanyuan tilted her head and looked at it. The more she looked at it, the more familiar it felt…
“I drew it myself.” Seeing her staring, Jiang Yun said aloud, “I drew it from memory.”
He didn’t say who was in that painting, but Gu Yuanyuan understood instantly: Dabao painted her.
She looked back and smiled at Jiang Yun. “Dabao is really good at painting.”
Jiang Yun looked slightly uncomfortable.
She taught him how to draw.
Later, after thorough study, he had become quite skilled. He drew her as well as he could from his memory, but he couldn’t draw her face; it was considered fictitious and unreal.
Gu Yuanyuan toured the whole house. When she walked into the room, she didn’t change her shoes. After a while, Jiang Yun found a new pair of women’s slippers for her. They were furry and cute.
Before waiting for the shopping list, Jiang Yun’s mobile phone rang, and although he wanted to hang up, after reading the caller ID, he hesitated. Gu Yuanyuan urged him. “Quickly answer it.”
Jiang Yun had to receive the call. She didn’t know what was said, but he frowned. “Now?”
After a few seconds, Jiang Yun hung up the phone, and Gu Yuanyuan said, “Is something wrong?”
It was almost eleven o’clock in the evening now, and it was getting late. Could he still be busy with work?
Jiang Yun tried his best to soften his voice. “I have something to deal with.”
After a pause, he added, “I have to go to the commander’s house nearby.”
Hearing that it was nearby, Gu Yuanyuan breathed a sigh of relief. “Then go quickly.”
Since he had to find the commander, she thought that it was a big deal.
Jiang Yun took her to her room, and on the way back, Jiang Yun ordered a maid to clean it for her. “This is your room.”
He pointed to the other side. “And that’s mine.”
“Take a break first, and don’t wait for me. If you need something, tell Zhan Yang or you can also call me.” After patiently persuading her, Jiang Yun walked away. Looking at him leave, it was clear that it really was urgent.
Gu Yuanyuan knew that Dabao’s attitude toward her had not improved. This was within her expectations, and he needed time to adapt.
When you’re a mother, you have to take care of your child’s feelings.
There was no hurry.
After Jiang Yun left, Gu Yuanyuan didn’t return to the bedroom prepared for her, but instead went to Jiang Yun’s room opposite hers.
She wanted to know more about Dabao’s lifestyle.
Jiang Yun’s bedroom was very clean and simple. Near the bed was a huge floor-to-ceiling window. At that moment, the curtains were opened, and you could see the forest region and a thick ginkgo tree outside.
Gu Yuanyuan noticed that the floor-to-ceiling windows were made of bulletproof glass.
There was an English book on the bedside table. Gu Yuanyuan realized that she could understand it and remembered her original self as if she were a student.
There were some explained notes in the book. Dabao must have read some interesting points and made his own notes; it seemed he had the habit of annotating books.
Apart from basic furniture and an English book on the bedside table, there was nothing else in the bedroom, which made Gu Yuanyuan a little depressed.
Wasn’t it too boring?
It was unlike Lin Shaosi’s bedroom, which was filled with all sorts of things.
She hadn’t seen Gu Yizhou’s bedroom yet, but in her opinion of Erbao’s character, his bedroom should be similar to this. How could Dabao’s room be so simple?
Gu Yuanyuan suddenly saw a somewhat familiar item in a drawer that was half-open. After considering it, she opened the drawer slightly.
Sure enough, she was right.
Inside was a black gun.
This was no accident. Jiang Yun was using a gun to defend himself, and it was a very good weapon.
Seeing that there was a shirt on the bed, Gu Yuanyuan suddenly found something to do that could help Dabao: hang the shirt!
After hanging up his shirt, she seemed to feel quite fulfilled. She clapped her hands happily, walked out of the bedroom, and glanced at her room.
The furniture in her room had obviously been changed. After thinking about it, the style was similar to Jiang Yun’s bedroom now that she had more furniture and the bedding had been changed to light blue.
More importantly, a very large puppet had been placed on the bed, occupying one third of the entire bed.
Gu Yuanyuan, with a black line on her face, walked over and touched it. It felt very good, but—
For a son to prepare this kind of big doll which a child would want from their mother… Isn’t there something wrong with this?
She glanced quietly, withdrew her gaze, and after a while glanced at it again—undeniably, it looked quite cute and comfortable.
Gu Yuanyuan couldn’t control herself, and she threw herself at the big doll and rolled around. Then she stood up calmly and went straight downstairs into the kitchen.
She decided to see if there were any ingredients in the kitchen, so she could cook something.
At the birthday feast, Dabao hadn’t eaten anything. She ate a full meal, but by now, she was starting to feel hungry again.
She couldn’t sleep before Dabao returned, so she took advantage of the time to see if she could make some supper.
The items in the kitchen surprised her. The large three-door refrigerator was filled with a variety of ingredients; it was like a small walk-in cooler filled with whatever you could think of.
Gu Yuanyuan was in trouble. She hadn’t been in the kitchen for a long time, and she had only helped Gu Yizhou wash vegetables the last time she was in one.
She was afraid of making a mess if she made it too complicated. Hesitating, Gu Yuanyuan picked up a few tomatoes and eggs. It seemed that scrambled eggs with tomatoes was a dish that required little skill.
Just as she was preparing to make supper, Jiang Yun had arrived at the commander’s house.
As soon as he entered, he heard a soothing voice. “I heard you brought a girl home?”
The commander was very young—about the same age as Jiang Yun. He seemed to have just returned home as he was still wearing his military uniform and sitting on the sofa reading a newspaper.
Jiang Yun sat down opposite him. “Your ears are quite sharp.”
The commander chuckled, and his slender fingertips turned over the newspaper. Without looking up, he said, “It’s not my ears. It’s midnight, so it’s hard for me not to know that you brought a girl home.”
Anyone who knew Jiang Yun knew that he could be with a woman, but he would never bring one back to this place.
Being able to bring her back was bound to be different.
Jiang Yun didn’t want to talk more about Gu Yuanyuan. After all, Gu Yuanyuan was a matter regarding his mother. It was too bizarre, and no one would believe it.
He frowned. “You called me to hurry over just for this matter?”
The commander finally raised his head, revealing a clear and elegant face. With a pair of glasses on the high bridge of his nose, his entire demeanor complemented his aura.
“Do you think that this is a trivial matter?” The commander put down the newspaper. “Mr Yun, I have to remind you that the people over there are keeping their eyes on you. You’ve just brought a girl home. Have you considered the girl’s safely once this news leaks out?
“Private Yun.” He smiled. “As a friend, I’ve heard gossip about your romance problems, but there doesn’t seem to be an issue.”
Jiang Yun: “…”
He rolled his eyes vaguely.
That a big shot in the army would actually gossip and say something like that… no one would believe it.
The commander tapped the table. “I’m really just a little curious. What kind of girl can enter your eyes?”
Jiang Yun relaxed, leaned back on the sofa, looked at the commander, and smiled. “Let’s say you and I are related to each other. Going by seniority, you would have to call her aunt after meeting her.”
Commander: “…”
Commander:”???”
The news he received was that Yunyun had brought back a very young girl.
At that moment, Jiang Yun’s mobile phone rang again, and it was from Zhan Yang.
Jiang Yun frowned. He deliberately let Zhan Yang stay at the house, ordering him to pay attention to anything that happened.
Thinking that there might have been something wrong with Gu Yuanyuan, Jiang Yun immediately answered the phone.
Zhan Yang’s strange and hesitant voice sounded from the phone. “Mr. Jiang, Miss … she has blown up the kitchen.”
