Master Meow - Chapter 44
Chapter 44: Saving Lu Qiu
Wells’ heart stopped beating in an instant, and the anger that he had been suppressing suddenly broke out completely. His anger now was ten times, no, a hundred times more than when he attacked the jackals before.
Roar!
No one could have thought that a cat could make such a terrifying sound.
Ruth raised his head abruptly and saw that Wells had vanished from the sky at an extremely fast speed.
Something must’ve happened.
He leapt on top of a branch and looked into the distance. This was the second time that he saw Wells so angry until he went out of control.
Currently, Wells felt the extreme guilt coming from his heart, and he blamed himself to the point where his eyes turned red. He didn’t expect that to happen, and because of his momentary curiosity and desire to test his pet out, he didn’t close the doors and windows, leaving her unprotected, which led the little pet to be caught up in this desperate situation.
The Falling Star Forest wasn’t anywhere near the stone castle, and it could be said that the distance was quite far there. At his usual speed, it would take nearly half an hour to fly from the Falling Star Forest to the stone castle. But this time, Wells had cut it down to three minutes.
This was the maximum speed limit his body could achieve.
Soon enough, the distant castle appeared right before his eyes. He saw the little pet, who was standing by the window, suddenly leaned backward, and her body began to fall rapidly.
The lift-chair couldn’t serve as protection at this rate, and it had already separated from the little pet’s body earlier.
The entire live broadcasting room started to explode.
The little pet truly fell down, and no one came to save her.
How could this happen?
Even if she fell to death, she didn’t want to be eaten by the spider. This thought was on Lu Qiu’s mind right now.
Unexpectedly, when she really fell back, her mood became unusually calm.
I hope my fall would not look so unsightly.
It’s a pity that I haven’t played enough with the cat and properly rubbed its fur yet.
She wasn’t sure if the giant cat would be sad to see herself like this when it returns.
It should be sad…
She shamelessly believed that the giant cat liked her very much.
Lu Qiu gave a bitter smile. The live ball followed her, quickly falling down. But her speed was too fast, and it was a little hard to catch up. So, the picture was blurred out.
Wells practically popped his eyes out when he saw this scene. He rushed forward at lightning speed and caught the little pet before she fell to the ground.
Falling from such a high place, the force under the acceleration of her body weight was so great that even with Wells’ current physique, he would likely suffer from a fracture. He clearly felt the pain of the jackal whose spine he crushed a few minutes ago.
But he did not care about the pain. The joy he felt from regaining what he lost had made him ecstatic.
Caught it. Nothing happened.
Lu Qiu was stunned silly when she fell on the back of the giant cat.
The effect of the force was mutual. Not only did the giant cat feel the pain, but she also felt very painful all over her body, but this pain was soon quickly replaced with joy.
The giant cat came down from the sky and saved her. Like a miracle, it happened again.
Lu Qiu turned around and buried herself in the giant cat’s fur.
Wells couldn’t reach out to touch her, so he lifted his tail up, and swept it gently over her body to make sure she was okay, then finally he became relaxed.
But as he looked up and saw the giant spider that had climbed out of the castle’s room and was walking down the wall, the anger that he had suppressed was once again ignited.
Almost all animals have territorial awareness, and for Wells, this stone castle is under his control— it is his territory! Each nook and cranny in this castle was even filled with his marking.
He had no intention to invade other animal’s territory, but he couldn’t tolerate animals going back and forth on his territory at will and leaving nonchalantly after hurting his things.
Wells quickly but steadily flew towards the castle, but the spider was so fast that it was about to reach the bottom of the castle.
Since the food disappeared from its mouth, the giant spider was also quite angry. And from time to time, its huge forefoot would wave into the air.
Wells stretched out his claws, which were still covered with blood, reeking.
The tip of his claw was like the sharpest blade in the world as it cut the spider’s chelicerae at once. The huge hairy legs which were still moving forward were completely chopped off from its body.
This sudden attack made the spider pause for a moment, then it lifted up its chelicerae to shoot its venom at him.
Wells easily avoided its counterattack.
He squinted his eyes and stretched his claws again, but this time he chopped its two limbs off, followed with its limbs feeler.
Soon, all of its limbs were cut off. The giant and arrogant spider laid on the ground without any resistance. Blue blood oozed out from its limbs, and the spider was disoriented, unable to budge.
Wells extended his claws for the last time, and a lot of mucus gushed out in an instant. Now, the giant spider became completely motionless.
As if he was afraid that Lu Qiu would see such a brutal scene, his huge tail had been swinging to block Lu Qiu’s sight.
So, Lu Qiu saw almost nothing in the process.
Although she didn’t see it, the live broadcast device recorded the scene clearly.
The whole audience in the live broadcasting room was going crazy from the moment Wells appeared to catch Lu Qiu so suddenly.
Originally, after seeing Lu Qiu fall from the windowsill, almost all the spectators were hissing and insulting Wells, cursing him for being the careless owner that killed his own pet. They were accusing him of deliberately creating such an event to attract attention.
But Lu Qiu was suddenly caught before she crashed to the ground.
This sudden reversal left all the audience stunned silly for a moment.
After that, they watched how the flying giant cat effortlessly abused the hateful spider with ease, as if the giant spider was just a toy without any attack power.
The comment section of the live broadcasting room, which was empty for a long time, finally had a one-sentence comment, weakly asking.
“Is this cat flying without any aircraft or equipment?”
“Isn’t flying only possible for the members of the royal family? I’ve never heard nor seen this one before.”
“Maybe it’s a new type of equipment that can be invisible.”
Nevertheless, Wells’ appearance caused a fuss in the whole live broadcasting room. Regardless of the previous loud insult, at this moment, all the audience were giving him praises.
After getting rid of the spider, Wells threw its remains out of sight with one claw.
This wasn’t one of the animals that lived nearby his castle; He had never seen it before.
Didn’t know what he was thinking, Wells’ complexion was somewhat ugly, but soon it disappeared.
At last, he picked Lu Qiu, who was on his back, then embraced her tightly.
Huddled in his warm hug, Lu Qiu finally became aware of her lingering fear. Her entire body, from head to feet, became soft, but she was firmly held within the giant cat’s front paws, and her body leaned more closely against him.
This world was really not a place for her to live alone. She knew that any animal could kill her easily once she left the giant cat’s side.
Wells lovingly rubbed his chin against the little pet’s head.
As Lu Qiu faced forward, Wells remembered that the live ball was still operating.
He turned his device on, disconnected the ball, and shut it down completely.
Previously, when Wells was fighting, the live ball had only caught his whole body and back, and his closed-up claws, but never got to capture his front look.
The audience kept on waiting, but just when the ball finally reached the front, they found that the live broadcasting room was closed.
“What? Why did it end?”
“Nooo!!! Please turn it on a little longer. I haven’t seen such a tortuous and strange live broadcast for a long time.”
At this time, this newcomer’s uncategorized live broadcast room was about to top the charts. The number of viewers coming had exceeded 20,000. It was far inferior to other famous broadcasters, but it was very incredible for a newcomer who just started.
Wells wasn’t aware of it, and he didn’t really care about it.
The pungent smell of blood on his body made him suddenly react. After he finished dealing with the jackals’ affairs, he hadn’t gone to wash himself clean, and now he was dirty and smelly.
To think that he actually hugged his little pet while he’s in this state.
She’s going to hate me.
But as soon as he lowered his head, he found that Lu Qiu had fallen asleep in his embrace while dependently holding onto him.
Wells couldn’t help tightening up his hug.
He wouldn’t allow this kind of mistake to happen again in the future.
