Intense Love - Chapter 100
Chapter 100 – Found
After arriving, Su Jinbei changed out of her wet clothes. The grandmother had been kind enough to look for clothes that the child’s mother had worn a long time ago from the wardrobe and lent them to her to change into. Su Jinbei had wanted to inform Zhou Shiyun but there was no signal and the rain was getting heavier, it wouldn’t make sense for her to send a child out in such weather. All she could do was wait and request that someone go over to inform Zhou Shiyun when the rain had subsided.
“Grandma, jiejie, I’m back,” the child’s voice rang from the courtyard. Su Jinbei looked up just as the child pushed the door in. Behind him was Zhou Shiyun, the one she wanted to see the most.
“You’re finally here.” Su Jinbei breathed a sigh of relief, “Has Xiaoyuan been found?”
Her breath was knocked out of her chest. Before she could even react, she was already in Zhou Shiyun’s arms.
He held her tightly, with all his strength, as if he wanted to absorb her into his body.
Su Jinbei was taken aback. She looked past Zhou Shiyun’s shoulders at Lin Qingwei and several others behind him. After a moment of silence, she reached out and patted Zhou Shiyun, “Why are your clothes all wet?”
A doctor answered, “Dr. Zhou has been looking for you in the rain for a while now.”
Lin Qingwei, “Jinbei, what the hell is going on, why are you here? I thought you went back?”
Su Jinbei blinked, “Sorry, sorry. I ran into these children on the way back and they knew where Xiaoyuan was so I went with them. But I didn’t expect the road to be so far, and then I fell…”
“You fell?” Zhou Shiyun pulled back, “Where?”
Su Jinbei, “I’m fine, it’s just a little sprain. This kid brought me to his house because my clothes were covered in mud and rainwater. Grandma even kindly provided me clothes to change into.”
Zhou Shiyun nodded, squatted down and twisted her ankle.
“Hiss…”
“Fortunately, you didn’t break any bones. You should be fine after applying some medicine.” Zhou Shiyun righted himself and turned his back to her, “Climb up, let’s go home.”
Su Jinbei hesitated, “Zhou Shiyun, are you all right…”
She felt that there was something off about him.
“I’m fine.” Zhou Shiyun’s expression remained cold.
In the end, the two walked back with Su Jinbei on Zhou Shiyun’s back. On the way, she found that everyone was being weird. They were silent as a mouse, not a peep out of their mouths.
“Xiaowei, did you find Xiaoyuan?”
“Yeah, we found him.”
Su Jinbei nodded and was about to ask further when she noticed Lin Qingwei point with his eyes at Zhou Shiyun beckoning her to pay attention to her fiance. She glanced at Zhou Shiyun. He had turned to face her, his expression cold as the air in the mountains.
Was it because of him that everyone did not dare to even speak?
“Zhou Shiyun, I made you guys look for a long time, right?” Su Jinbei frowned, “I’m so sorry. I made everyone run around outside this late at night.”
“Jinbei, don’t say that. After all, you were also helping look for the child,” a doctor said.
“That’s right, it was nothing. We’re just glad Xiaoyuan has been found.”
“I really can’t thank you all enough.”
Su Jinbei watched Zhou Shiyun carefully as she was talking with the rest, but the more she assessed him, the more flustered she became at his prolonged silence.
Zhou Shiyun piggy-backed Su Jinbei to the place where the medical team was and took her directly to his room.
It was a single room, not big, but neat as always.
Zhou Shiyun put her on a chair beside him and rummaged through the first aid box to apply medicine on her injured ankle.
“Let’s not apply medicine first. Is there a bathroom here? I want to take a shower first.”
She was convinced that the smell of dirty water that had seeped into her skin wouldn’t go away unless she showered. She had fallen straight into the mud, after all.
“Can you walk?”
“Yeah.” Su Jinbei paused, “And you. You also have to take a hot bath. You’ll get sick otherwise.”
Zhou Shiyun nodded and took out a set of clean clothes from his suitcase, “I’ll call Lailai over to help you. After you wash, change your clothes into these.”
“Ok.”
Zhou Shiyun brought Lailai over. Su Jinbei washed her body thoroughly with her help and put on clean clothes. The clothes that Grandma had lent her were actually clean as well, but it had a strong ‘vintage flair’ after being in the closet for too long.
Just as she thought, Zhou Shiyun’s clothes were more comfortable…
