I Became The Wife of The Male Lead - Chapter 0
Prologue
Fiona Green
The illegitimate child of Count Green. A girl who merely due to that reason, was tortured from an early age. Her unfortunate childhood was one that would be best left in the past. However, the young Fiona, as she grew older, gradually revealed her secret. The one thing that propelled her to praise as a great mage: her talent in magic.
Based on those aforementioned events, it would appear that Fiona would be the main character in the novel. Afterall, she was a genius mage who had overcome a horrific past. Was she not the most typical main character cliché? Unfortunately, the position of the female lead was never meant to be Fiona’s.
Reflecting on Fiona’s life, a soft sigh came out of my mouth. Suddenly, a bang echoed – the sound of a stick hitting the floor. The explosive sound shocked me awake from my reverie, scattering my thoughts.
“Fiona, are you listening to your father?” A hoarse voice snarled at me.
With my head in the clouds just a moment ago, I had briefly forgotten my surroundings. I hurriedly raised my head and stared at the man standing before me. Appearing to be in his early forties, the arrogantly sumptuous man in front me was none other than the head of the Green Family, Count Green. He existed as Fiona’s biological father, and due to this, I thought not too much about calling him ‘father’.
“My apologies, father,” I calmly responded.
“You little b*tch,” Count Green clicked his tongue.
The expression that was pasted on his face appeared to be one far from the ideal of a doting father. However, Count Green had never viewed Fiona as his daughter. To him, she was nothing but a nuisance, a burden he had to bear. His esteemed pride as a noble, which he held in high regard had been tarnished upon accepting Fiona. Doing so, had been a complete insult to his family; to nobility.
After all, Fiona was nothing but an illegitimate child. For that reason, her standing in the Green family was non-existent, which meant she had never been treated well.
Another good example to justify her ill-treatment, was that brother of Fiona’s. Her half-brother to be exact. Cain Dell, the very person who currently, was frowning at me with intense hatred.
“Don’t pretend to be humble in front of Father,” Cain Dell said in a sarcastic voice beside me.
Oh, how badly do I want to rip that mouth apart. Hopefully, the opportunity would arise.
The eldest son of Count Green was none other than the boy before her, the successor of Green’s family, Cain Dell. Therefore, he had to accept Fiona’s existence as his half-sister, regardless of whether he wished to or not. Likewise, Fiona had no choice but to begrudgingly acknowledge the irrational man. The very person who had so greatly despised Fiona, he had positioned her beneath livestock and resorted to treating her as such. He had done so based on the fact that the current Fiona was a powerless thirteen year old girl
If one were to realise that the girl talking to the pair was in fact Fiona Green, they would be correct. Yes, that is, I was currently occupying the body of thirteen year old Fiona. A prude girl who later became the widely acclaimed genius mage.
Let me repeat, indeed, I am currently the thirteen year old Fiona Green.
If one were to listen up until here, it would seem apparent that Fiona was the so-called main character. However, she really was not at all! Rather, her future was grim. Ultimately, she would become the villain, and meet her end in the hands of the lead couple!
Why am I so certain about this? Well, that is because currently, I am residing in a novel world, known as “The Emperor and the Lady”. As the title suggests, the book revolves around the male lead, the Emperor, and the female lead, the Lady, saving the world whilst their romance blossoms. In addition to that, Fiona, who meets her end being unmercifully slain in their hands, leads a terribly miserable life.
I could still remember the end of Fiona’s life. The exact order of events, concisely. She was a very talented mage. However, due to certain circumstances, which I will not indulge in, her heart became dark. In the end, she made a contract with darkness, thereby becoming an almost immortal. Her existence threatened the main couple as she was not easily killed.
The male lead had been forced to slice Fiona’s neck with a sword, split her chest, and pull out her darkened heart. The heart, which had still beating, thus had to be stabbed, until it no longer pulsed. Still, the gruesome finish for Fiona had yet to be completed. Fiona’s neck, belonging to the world’s most terrible and horrific mage, had been hung up on the walls of the city while the rest of her body had been incinerated. Her soul had been pulled into darkness, where she suffered a never ending death. A most extreme, and agonising experience for all eternity.
That was the end of Fiona Green. It was also a story that could be my future.
I smiled bitterly.
…. Haha, honestly, would I be comfortable if I happened to die right now?
