Chapter 19 – I Only Liked You When I Was Blind (1)
When Sheng Peiyin and the ninth prince entered the room, Shen Ziqiao decided it was finally time to go and take Shen Ziyang back to the Shen residence.
But Shen Ziyang refused to leave, on the reason that he has yet to see the admirable ninth prince. “If you want to go back, go by yourself. I’ll wait for a while longer.”
“Did you truly believe you could meet the ninth prince? We’re going back now.” Shen Ziqiao held Shen Ziyang’s wrist. She didn’t want to stay any longer in this place, knowing she would be made a fool in public in a little while.
“I want to see the ninth prince to admire his talents. The ninth prince can’t see me, but he doesn’t refuse to see me unlike he does with you.”
Shen Ziyang’s tone was only full of disdain for Shen Ziqiao.
Shen Ziqiao laughed and said, “Then, you wait for him.”
Although she is the cannon fodder written for the benefit of the female lead, how could she selflessly devote herself like a lamb to the plot? This pitiful character still also has dignity, and she is unwilling to let others trample on this dignity.
Feeling resolute, Shen Ziqiao came out of the wing and walked downstairs without looking back.
Incidentally, she encountered Sheng Peiyin who was about to go upstairs. When Sheng Peiyin saw her coming down, she uttered in surprise, “Jiao Jiao, where are you going?”
Three black lines slipped down Shen Ziqiao’s forehead; Sheng Peiyin appeared just in time, ah. “I remembered that I still have something to do, so I’ll have to go back first.”
“I already asked the kitchen to cook your favorite dish, spicy salt duck. Why don’t you go home after we’ve eaten lunch?” Sheng Peiyin said with a thin smile. She didn’t bring Shen Ziqiao here today so that she could sit and leave quickly.
I don’t like duck at all! Shen Ziqiao gave an apologetic smile and reasoned that she would dine another time.
But then, Shen Ziyang clattered down from upstairs. “Sister Peiyin, sister Peiyin, where is the ninth prince?
His voice was so loud that it caught everyone’s attention at once. And their eyes immediately fell on Shen Ziqiao with disdain and ridicule, waiting to see her make a fool out of herself.
Shen Ziqiao secretly scolded the little bastard in her heart.
Sheng Peiyin took Shen Ziqiao’s hand and added, “Don’t you want to see the ninth prince before you leave?”
Shen Ziyang was pleasantly surprised to see a man behind Sheng Peiyin. It was a man dressed in a white tunic with a five-colored sash around his waist, and his sleeves embroidered with dark stripes floated slightly in rhythm with his footsteps, adding a touch of grace to his natural elegance.
“Ninth prince!” He couldn’t help but exclaim.
There was a sudden dull pain in Shen Ziqiao’s brain and she could finally see clearly how the ninth prince looked.
This ninth prince looked about twenty-five to twenty-six years old. He was handsome and looked noble and gentle. He was fixing his stare only at Sheng Peiyin and was only able to notice other people upon Shen Ziyang’s loud voice.
The second he saw Shen Ziqiao, his face turned green.
“Oh, third miss Shen, I heard that you mistakenly entered the young master Qi’s room while looking for the ninth prince. Did you do that?”
It was unknown who asked that. But soon, it proved to be insignificant as roars of laughter rang from the patrons.
Shen Ziqiao turned to look at Sheng Peiyin. It turns out the exact reason why Sheng Peiyin wanted to accompany her to the Shangpin building is so that more people would be aware that she and Qi Zheng were alone in a room together.
This Sheng Peiyin was really aggressive on ruining her reputation.
The ninth prince’s face was icy whenever his name was associated with Shen Ziqiao; he felt great shame.
Shen Ziqiao only listened to the laughter reverberate in the lobby, not even trying to defend herself. She knew that no matter what she said, it would only land on deaf ears, especially for one-dimensional characters who are only blind for the sake of the plot.
