His Transmigrated Cannon Fodder Fiance - Chapter 14 - The Idiot (2)
Chapter 14 – The Idiot (2)
Shen Ziqiao has been thinking for two days behind closed doors. Apart from being more aware of her new world, she had gained no insight.
Instead, she had realized she had skimmed through most of the story, never taking the book seriously from the very beginning. As a result, she skipped many parts, which is why there are many things she didn’t grasp and barely knew the characters. The only thing she currently knew is that Sheng Peiyin would marry her to a fool, but she didn’t know how the process would unfurl.
And at this time, Sheng Peiyin had yet begun to tangle with beautiful men.
These beautiful men are none other than the heroine’s plot armor and are either the richest or the most powerful men in the story. As a side character, should she properly play the role of cannon fodder and make trouble for the female lead?
“What are you thinking about to laugh like that?” Sheng Peiyin’s gentle voice sounded from behind her.
Shen Ziqiao was so scared that she almost broke her pen. She looked at Sheng Peiyin as if she saw a ghost. “Why are you here?”
“The servant outside shouted for your attention a few times. Seeing that you didn’t respond at all, I took the initiative and came in only to see you laughing so happily. Are you thinking of the ninth prince?” Sheng Peiyin asked with a smile.
On the contrary, I’m thinking about how I’m courting death if I am to fight against you…
Shen Ziqiao laughed a few times. “What’s the occasion now, why is sister Sheng looking for me?”
“I just talked with the old madam Shen. She has promised that you’d accompany me to go out. I heard the Shangpin establishment is finally open today. Let’s go see and have a taste.” Sheng Peiyin said as she reached for Shen Ziqiao’s arm.
She’s not going out! How can she enjoy food and fulfill her only role as the abused supporting actress? She won’t go even if she she kills her.
“Sister Sheng, I have a terrible migraine…” Shen Ziqiao placed a hand on her forehead and whispered pitifully.
Sheng Peiyin pinched the tip of her nose with a smile. “You don’t have a headache. When we go out, you’ll forget it even hurts. As if I don’t know you well yet.”
“I truly am having a headache,” Shen Ziqiao tried to persuade her way out of misery.
“Jiao Jiao, Jiao Jiao…” A childish, high pitched voice suddenly came from the outside. Soon after, the curtain opened, and in came a boy. He was still short and young, at the tender age of ten years old.
For him to dare call her name so directly, Shen Ziqiao guessed that this should be Shen Ziyang, the third young master of the Shen family. Her mother is a concubine from the old madam Shen’s family. And although Shen Ziyang is a commoner, he was adopted as a legitimate son.
“What?” Shen Ziqiao stared at the little boy who had run towards her and frowned.
“Take me to Shangpin. I’ve told my grandmother and she wants you to take me there.” Shen Ziyang’s height only reached half of Shen Ziqiao. His plump appearance, as well as his skin fair as jade, made him charming. He also looked neat, wearing a red shirt over autumn-colored sleeves made from Hangzhou silk and a jade tassel around his waist.
Yet, he was looking at Shen Ziqiao with slight disdain and contempt.
What a spoiled child! Shen Ziqiao dismissively said, “Go there yourself.”
Shen Ziyang tugged at Shen Ziqiao’s arm and demanded, “Grandma asked you to go with me, and you must go with me.”
Sheng Peiyin said with a smile, “Jiao Jiao, since the old madam asked you to accompany little Yang, let’s go together. You haven’t been out for several days, do you want to suffocate in this place?”
“Exactly! And if you don’t go with me, I’ll tell grandma that you hit me again.” Shen Ziyang smiled as well.
“Shut your trap.” Shen Ziqiao gave him a frightening look.
But this only served to aggravate him further. Shen Ziyang stomped on his feet and wailed, “I want you to go out with me! I want you to go out with me!”
Shen Ziqiao was at a loss…how could I have such an annoying brother?
