Chapter 44 – His True Intentions (3)

Seeing her reaction, he thought of her being so poor that she didn’t even have the money to prepare a Christmas present for her husband.

“It’s okay.” Su Qiuzi was still pondering when Guan Lin waved his hand and said, “You go out and work hard, this kind of thing will not be allowed next time.”

Guan Lin relented, and Su Qiuzi was so relieved she responded in an instant, “Alright, thanks boss, I’m off to work.”

Su Qiuzi hurriedly left. Looking at the girl’s figure disappearing in the doorway, Guan Lin raised his wrist and looked at the rubber bracelet, a corner of his lips raised.

The bracelet was kinda nice.

The pottery house was very busy last night on Christmas Eve all the way to 10:00 pm. And by Christmas today, it was much more deserted and had almost no business. When the pottery house closed after six o’clock in the evening, Guan Lin simply gave the staff a holiday.

This young boss was good, generous, flexible in management and friendly in character.

After leaving the pottery house, Su Qiuzi didn’t go home right away. After parting ways with her co-workers and saying goodbye, she first bought something at the White Stallion Building and later took the subway to a mall in the Southern District.

The mall itself was quite upscale. He Yu gave her such a luxurious Christmas gift, so her return gift could not be too shabby. Finding the shop, Su Qiuzi went inside and, after being recommended by the clerk to choose something, she gritted her teeth and swiped her card.

Su Qiuzi returned home with a taxi after buying her things.

He Yu was on a business trip to some overseas cities this time, and he returned to Xia City after the afternoon meeting. The driver went to the airport to pick him up, but before he could leave the airport, He Yu received a call from Huai Jing.

“Back yet?” Huai Jing’s lazy voice rang out.

“Just got out of the airport.” He Yu replied.

“The old man said to have you come back for dinner.” Huai Jing informed him.

He Yu pursed his lips slightly and let out a faint smile, “He’s angry?”

“No wonder then.” Huai Jing let out a low chuckle and said, “Old Master has such a big temper, things will be blown up when he mentions them. How could I dare to ask?”

He had spent more time with the old man than Huai Jing, and naturally knew his grandfather’s temper better. He Yu didn’t ask much and said, “I’ll go back now.”

The He Family Mansion was located in the northern district of Xia City, and a garden-like residence was constructed near the mountainside.

But the He Family Mansion was not purely made of traditional Chinese gardens. The gardens were made up of artificial hills, pavilions and small bridges, while the main house style was more modern. The design style of the villa was bold and avant-garde, peaceful yet elegant.

When He Yu entered the main house, Aunt Zhai greeted him with a smile at the door. Aunt Zhai was in her fifties and was a distant relative of the He Family. She had worked in the He Family since He Yu was a toddler, and He Yu was considered to have grown up under her watch.

The young master of the He Family was gentle and elegant in character and treated people and their subjects with all courtesy. Aunt Zhai had always respected and loved him in her heart. Receiving the coat he handed over, Aunt Zhai smiled amiably and said, “I have prepared your favorite shrimp and tofu steamed eggs.”

He Yu was still young, but his taste was very light, and Aunt Zhai knew all the things he liked to eat. Hearing her say that, He Yu smiled and said, “Thank you, Aunt Zhai.”

Aunt Zhai nodded with a smile, and He Yu nodded slightly, then got up and went to the main hall.

In the main hall, Huai Jing was drinking tea with Old Master He. The He Family members were rather fond of drinking tea, but they were also good at the art of making tea, so it was not surprising that He Yu was influenced by this and now his habit was like an old man’s.

When the sound came from the doorway, Huai Jing was already peering over. He Yu entered the door, put his arm on the back of the sofa and smiled at him. He Yu glanced at the guy and his eyes shifted to the person sitting on the couch opposite him.

“Grandfather.”
