The Lady’s Facade was Ruined - Chapter 26
Chapter 26: Is It Intimate?
Shen Wanying looked at the boy’s back.
She and Huo Cheng hadn’t known each other for a long time. Even if they had met each other when they were young, the time they’d spent together was only one month. Huo Cheng had yet to fully grow so obviously he wasn’t as tall as an adult male, but his back gave her a strong sense of security, as if he could carry everything.
Shen Wanying was rarely moved. But, in the presence of Huo Cheng, it always seemed like she was prone to showing her flaws.
Huo Cheng gestured with his hand at his back to signal her to get on quickly.
Shen Wanying’s face turned slightly red, and she slowly put her hand on Huo Cheng’s shoulder and leaned against his back. Huo Cheng put his hands behind her knees and securely held her before standing up.
“Hold on tightly.” Huo Cheng glanced sideways and said to Shen Wanying. At this moment, Shen Wanying’s head was resting on Huo Cheng’s shoulders. So, when Huo Cheng spoke like this, his light breath fell on her face, as if soft kisses fell one by one.
Shen Wanying’s ears also began to turn red. She looped around Huo Cheng’s neck, avoiding Huo Cheng’s gaze, “Please look at the road.”
“Ok.” Huo Cheng turned his head and glanced at the fruit basket on the side of the road. “Leave the fruits you picked here. I’ll get them later.”
“Okay.” Shen Wanying also stared at the side of the road. She wasn’t used to have such close contact with the opposite sex and yet here she was, getting worked up by Huo Cheng’s sturdy back, “Well, Huo Cheng, why did you call me Ah Wan just now?”
Huo Cheng was stunned. Ah Wan was what he called Shen Wanying after he married her. Earlier while looking for her, he’d been so anxious that he’d subconsciously called out to her as Ah Wan.
“You don’t like it?”
Shen Wanying’s cheeks got slightly hot, “It’s not a question of like or not… It seems a bit too intimate.”
Huo Cheng asked back, “Is it intimate?”
More than intimate. Especially the way he’d said it.
Shen Wanying didn’t know how to answer him. Isn’t it intimate, yes? Compared to the way her parents called her, it was indeed more intimate.
“Why were you picking fruits here alone?” Huo Cheng changed the subject subtly.
Shen Wanying said, “Wang Tingting was originally with me, but I don’t know when she disappeared, and my mobile phone was with her.”
Huo Cheng thought for a while and said, “I called you just now and she answered it. She said that she was taking the picked fruits back first.”
“Really?” Shen Wanying curled her lips slightly, not believing what Wang Tingting said. Regardless of her suspicions, she held back from talking to Huo Cheng about her guesses about Wang Tingting and Qiu Ziqing cropping up in her mind.
Although she didn’t say it, Huo Cheng seemed to be aware that something was up and asked her, “Do you have any ideas?”
Shen Wanying shook her head, “No.”
Huo Cheng was silent for a while and said to Shen Wanying, “If you have anything in your mind, just tell me. I won’t tell anyone.”
Shen Wanying suddenly remembered about the book with the holy light last time.
…Although it was a bit embarrassing, Huo Cheng was indeed helping her cover it and didn’t tell the other students.
Therefore, she thought for a while then told Huo Cheng what she had guessed in her mind, “Wang Tingting and Qiu Ziqing are good friends. Today’s matter probably happened because she did this in order to help Qiu Ziqing.”
“Why?”
Shen Wanying tilted her head to look at his profile, “Qiu Ziqing seems to like you, so Wang Tingting helped her to distract me so that Qiu Ziqing could have a chance to be with you.”
Huo Cheng recalled that after Shen Wanying had left the kitchen, Qiu Ziqing had run over to look for him. This speculation should be 80-90% correct.
But there was one thing. In his previous life, he didn’t transfer to this high school, but Shen Wanying was still injured on the event day. The experience of the two injuries was very similar. He guessed that Shen Wanying’s last injury was also related to Qiu Ziqing.
Huo Cheng said, “Qiu Ziqing may indeed be hostile to you, but it’s not necessarily because of me.”
Shen Wanying nodded thoughtfully. She was actually very sensitive in this regard. She had a strong feeling that Qiu Ziqing didn’t like her that much.
“You should keep an eye on her in the future and be careful. You can’t let your guard down.”
“Yeah.” Shen Wanying replied, then her eyes fell on Huo Cheng’s face.
From this angle, she could see the mole on Huo Cheng’s right ear up close.
She stared at the mole quietly for a while, and asked the person who was carrying her, “Huo Cheng, I heard from the classmates that you hate someone touching your ears?”
Huo Cheng nodded, “Well, my ears are quite sensitive, so I don’t like the others to touch it.”
“Oh… you have a mole on your ear.”
“I know.”
“If I touched your mole now, would you leave me here regardless?”
“…” Huo Cheng was silent and said, “You can try.”
Shen Wanying thought he was trying to tempt her.
This is the nature of human beings. The less allowed to do it, the more you want to do it. She wanted to reach out and touch Huo Cheng’s ears, especially the mole, but she was afraid that Huo Cheng would get really angry and leave her here.
“No, no, I’m just kidding.” Shen Wanying replied, genuinely terrified.
Hearing this answer, Huo Cheng faintly curled his lips, turning his head at an angle where she couldn’t see.
