The Duchess and the Devil - Chapter 51.1
In the blink of an eye, his tongue was in the girl’s mouth, penetrating deep inside and colliding with the whipped cream. The feeling was very soft, sweet and gentle. The cake fell from the fork onto the green grass, but the couple did not care. Derrick grabbed her chin, pulling her closer to him as Judith tried to break free from the tenacious grip of her lips.
In the end, the fork itself flew to the ground after a piece of dessert, ringing loudly. With her free hand, the Duchess poked him in the chest, but the demon did not budge.
“Huh,” he chuckled. “This is sweeter than I thought,” Derrick said, licking his wife’s lips again. – Or are your lips so sweet on their own?
Judith, trying to catch her breath, looked at the smiling demon. Sometimes at such moments she wanted to run away without looking at him, but there was never hatred in her heart. On the contrary, it turned into a kind of game.
Derrick continued applying cream to her lips and licking it off. In the end, the cake was left with no cream at all. And only then did the demon calm down, after which Judith immediately called the maid, asking her to clear everything from the table.
“We need to talk,” the Duchess had not yet had time to tell Derrick about yesterday’s conversation with her brother.
Sipping green tea, she admitted this and began the story: about Vincent’s suspicions and his strange behavior.
– What did you tell him while I was away? – Judith looked at the demon with extreme suspicion.
– Nothing?
– Indeed?
Derrick smiled.
“I was just annoyed by the Emperor’s behavior and his face during the ceremony,” Derrick shrugged.
– Yes, I understand… Sylvia, who came to the funeral, also seems strange.
And now Judith remembered her brother again. His gaze, always friendly, this time seemed alien… Burdensome? Maybe this is Hannibal’s look?
Judith slowly rubbed her temple. Over time, the questions only became more and more, and the clues seemed more and more vague. It was as if something was accumulating inside her that was suffocating her.
“My subordinate said that Hannibal may have acquired unusual strength,” Derrick unexpectedly said.
– Unusual strength?
— During the war, the King was killed. And perhaps he took his power. And if this is true, it will be very difficult to find him,” he briefly explained all the circumstances.
Despite the lack of details, Judith realized that this was all very serious. And now Hannibal had to be even more careful. And now it will become difficult even for Derrick himself. Anxiety crept into my heart.
“But these are just rumors that may not be true.”
“We have no way of knowing more about this, right?”
– Right. But now I still can’t do anything,” Derrick shrugged again, as if he didn’t care at all.
He hinted at his still unrecovered magical powers. And all that the couple could do now was to take a closer look at the candidates for the role of Hannibal. And now the worst, but more likely option was Judith’s brother. As much as she wanted to push these thoughts aside, she couldn’t do it. Suddenly the Duchess said:
– You know, Derrick… What will happen to this man when we find Hannibal? – Judith was hinting at the following: will her brother die after expelling the demon from his body?
– It depends on whether the owner is alive.
— The owner could be dead?
— There are different contracts and types of curses.
