Judith, who was standing near the door, was pulled into the bedroom, as if the opening had simply eaten her. When the girl remembered this, her heart immediately hardened and seemed to petrify. Only now did the Duchess realize that Lucas had been following her since dinner.

Each demon has an individual, special nature, so recognizing this was not difficult. When she left the dining room, Lucas was already heading into the room – to the second floor.

Even though the danger had long passed, the room was still unnaturally cold.

Lucas looked at Derrick with a playful look at this time:

– What are you going to do?

“If something happens, you’ll accidentally break your neck.”

“I’d rather refuse,” the demon turned into black smoke and disappeared through the crack in the window.

Derrick left the office, watching the darkness in which Lucas disappeared. The man followed into Judith’s room. Upon entering, he saw many fragments on the floor and furniture broken into pieces. Only now did he understand how his wife was able to injure her leg so badly.

With a slight wave of the hand, a light wind pulled all the fragments in one place, and they disappeared without a trace. Judith was already asleep in a warm bed, which is why the demon immediately turned off all the lights, leaving only a small dim light. Now Derrick could only hear the steady rhythm of her heartbeat. It was incredibly calming and relieving.

Sitting on the bed, Derrick took her thin hands in his. Straight, thin fingers and hands reminded him of how defenseless she was. Now the demon was sad from the anger lurking inside. But when he thought that he was still able to protect her today, it became surprisingly easier.

After all, Derrick is just as much a demon as Lucas. Despite this, Judith was still very wary of her attacker, but felt a heavy sense of affection for her husband. Just his presence made her feel lighter and calmer. This is what made Derrick feel needed. They trust him.

Judith’s open heart meant only one thing – he was special to her. After all, she didn’t trust anyone else in this world like that.

Derrick looked again at the sleeping woman with her arms crossed over her chest.

“But doesn’t love make you a simple dog?” – he grinned.

Having never experienced anything like this, the demon was confused. He couldn’t sort out his own feelings. But I knew for sure that there would be nothing bad in love. And could he have thought before how much his life would change in such a short time? Is it worth complicating life with feelings now?

Derrick lay down next to Judith. Putting a pillow under his head, he turned to look directly at her face. As we got closer, the smell became stronger and more distinct. Derrick didn’t know why he couldn’t take his eyes off her throughout the night, but he didn’t resist his own desire.

As the darkness deepened, the demon only sank deeper into his own thoughts.

Judith woke up only at noon. Last night she wanted to wait for Derrick, but as the tension eased, her body also ran out of energy. It was because of this that the Duchess fell asleep completely unexpectedly. As a result of all the stress, fatigue had built up and now it was finally making itself known.

And she woke up only because the bright light blinded her eyes. Recently, such a picture has appeared before my eyes more and more often. Judith had indeed become too lazy.

She was alone in the room. Derrick, who simply did not need sleep, often left early in the morning. A painful groan escaped her lips as she tried to rise. The body was throbbing, as if the Duchess had run a marathon. But the reality was not myalgic, on the contrary – dull and sharp.

Memories from last night came back to mind. A quiet bedroom, immersed in darkness, from which an ominous hand pokes out.

– You got up.

Judith suddenly woke up from her thoughts and turned her head: Derrick was standing at the door to the bathroom. He threw a towel over his wet hair and was half naked: he was wearing only pants. Every movement seemed like a work of art: the muscles wriggled beautifully.

Walking closer to Judith, he lifted the blanket and examined her leg. The demon was checking the part he healed yesterday. The caviar was so smooth, as if absolutely nothing had happened, and everything that happened was just a bad dream.

– Does it hurt anywhere else? – Derrick said after a while.

– No, everything is fine.

– Exactly? If something hurts, just say so.
