Gu Yezhi arrived at the audition location early in the morning. He ordered his aide to park his car outside the building.

At the moment, he still sat inside the car while holding Bai Qingyan’s favorite flower in his hands. The fragrance of the white rose gently perfumed the air around him.

His OCD made it difficult for him to enjoy fragrant things. However, his little wife liked them, so he was willing to put in some effort.

Today was Bai Qingyan’s first audition in her life. It was the first time she had reached out toward her dream so, of course, he had to be present.

A while ago she had called him but he deliberately feigned indifference. He did it so she’d be surprised when she saw him later.

She didn’t want to disclose their relationship to others, lest they think she was using him to climb the social ladder. Gu Yezhi, being a considerate husband, came while wearing a mask. It showed that he respected her decision.

Xue Ying opened the car door and Gu Yezhi got out, looking at the direction from where Bai Qingyan exited the building.

He stared at her, entranced. She was full of smiles, chatting with Qi Lan while they left the audition site.

Suddenly, a crazy woman rushed out and splashed some gasoline all over Bai Qingyan. Although she looked like a drowned rat, she was still able to accurately kick off the lighter in the crazy woman’s hand.

It took less than a second for Gu Yezhi’s handsome and composed appearance to shatter. His pupils shrank in fear as he ran like mad toward the two women.

By then he had already realized that the crazy woman was none other than Ji Sijie. She held a homemade bomb and seemed to be pressuring Bai Qingyan, indicating that she wanted to die and take his wife with her!

She forced her eyes open and looked at Gu Yezhi. He wore a white shirt, black trousers, and polished leather shoes. There was a bouquet of white roses in his arms. With the sunlight spilling over his shoulders, he looked like a prince from a fairytale.

Only… In his eyes, Bai Qingyan saw a trace of worry and panic.

But that couldn’t be right. Her Gu Yezhi was as cold as an ice sculpture. He had no facial expressions and no mood swings. She was sure it was a hallucination and not her husband.

While Bai Qingyan convinced herself that she was seeing an illusion, Ji Sijie was stunned by the reality. Seeing Gu Yezhi approach, she started laughing. “Ha ha ha! Gu Yezhi… Why? You’re willing to die for your lover’s sake?”

Ji Sijie should have been trembling with fear as she stared at Gu Yezhi. However, the knowledge that she was about to die gave her courage.

Since she wasn’t afraid of death, then there was nothing to be afraid of.

Gu Yezhi threw away the roses and the mask, bravely taking a step forward. His handsome face was gloomy, with a sharp look in his eyes like an eagle. His whole body seemed to be wrapped in a black aura.

If not for Bai Qingyan being in Ji Sijie’s hands, Gu Yezhi wouldn’t hesitate to rush forward and strangle that crazy woman, even though it would sully his hands.
