Bai Qingyan answered her phone and it turned out to be Qi Lan. She looked at Gu Yezhi, regret stamped all over her face, and touched his arm softly. “I’m sorry, Yezhi. I can’t have dinner with you tonight. I have an appointment with Sister Qi and the director to meet the investors.” 

She had learned shooting and self-defense techniques from Gu Yezhi in the past two days. After spending so much time alone and together, their relationship had improved. So much that Bai Qingyan completely forgot that she had to meet investors. 

Gu Yezhi frowned. See investors? Did his wife need to go drink with unknown people to get a job? 

Seeing her husband’s displeasure, Bai Qingyan quickly caught on to what he was thinking and rushed to explain. “Yezhi, Sister Qi told me to tell you ‘just go sit down, don’t get drunk, and don’t be angry’.” 

Gu Yezhi stared at her, defeated. His wife’s beautiful eyes held a pleading look and her little red lips were twitching slightly out of nervousness. She looked so lovely that, no matter what she asked for, he’d agree to it without complaint. 

Helpless, he leaned down and planted a kiss on her lips, and she kissed him back with great enthusiasm. When he released Bai Qingyan, he nodded at her and she understood that her wish had been granted. 

“However, I will accompany you. I won’t go in, I’ll just wait for you downstairs.” Gu Yezhi said. He hoped Bai Qingyan would grow, so he released her and let her experience the bloody side of the world, but he couldn’t completely let go.
 

He really wanted to keep her safe, like cultivating a flower in a greenhouse, but he knew she wouldn’t like that. His wife was destined to be extraordinary. 

“Good!” Bai Qingyan said happily. 

Just as the two of them were about to go outside, Bai Qingyan’s phone rang again. She grabbed it without a care and the screen showed two words – Gu Hang! 

For a moment, Bai Qingyan stood frozen in place, and she felt the air around her drop a few degrees in temperature. She raised her eyes and noticed how Gu Yezhi’s face was covered with a layer of ice. The eyes that had been so warm and relaxed a moment ago had become as frozen as a glacier. 

Before she could say anything, Gu Yezhi yanked out his arm from her embrace. “I suddenly think I have something else to do. Go on your own.” Then he left with quick strides. 

Bai Qingyan stared at his tall but cold back and her heart sank. The good atmosphere of the past two days had been completely destroyed. 

Her phone was still ringing. 

Bai Qingyan answered her phone, incensed. 

“Yan Yan…” 

“GU HANG! Why don’t you go to hell!!! You should have died already! Qin Xiaomeng should have killed you on that day!!” The immense anger she felt made her scream at the phone, eyes blazing in rage. She hung up without waiting for the other side to answer.
 

The crucial part of her rebirth was to get along with Gu Yezhi, followed by fulfilling her dream then getting her revenge against Gu Hang. 

Although Gu Yezhi’s thoughts were difficult to figure out in this life, not only did she owe him her life, she also loved him. 

The relationship that had been slowly improving was directly destroyed by a call from Gu Hang. She was immensely angry, stomping her feet in a fit of rage. As she walked out, the phone rang again. It was still Gu Hang.

The other side of the phone was silent for a moment before Gu Hang spoke again. “Yan Yan, did something happen? Why are you so angry?”
