Chapter 35: Be Independent (2) 

“It’s fine.” Gu Yizhou briefly answered as the corner of his mouth lifted up a bit. Then, he said, “It’s not easy to be a rich man.” 

Jiang Yun: “It’s not that bad” 

The two brothers looked at each other, and both laughed afterwards. 

After a while, Jiang Yun said, “I have a private hospital under my name. How about you consider coming over and become a director there or something like that?” 

Jiang Yun paused for a bit before continuing, “I’ve heard that the director’s daughter is pursuing you, and based at Mom’s expression earlier, she seems to be quite satisfied with it.” 

Gu Yizhou: “…” 

He couldn’t help but glance at the living room where his mother was holding the pillow while watching the TV.
 

Gu Yizhou couldn’t really say anything. He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at his words but he only shook his head in bemusement. “I’m not in a hurry. You’re the eldest, so you should be the one in a hurry.” 

Jiang Yun didn’t say anything and just remained silent. Gu Yizhou added, “Also, I’ve been in Ren Xing for seven years now, and it’s not that bad. I don’t want to leave and change my job for the time being.” 

“If there’s a time that you don’t want to stay there anymore, just go over to my place right away.” Jiang Yun lightly tapped his shoulders, “I’m the big brother so no need to be courteous.” 

Gu Yizhou was stunned. It was hard to imagine that when they were still kids, this big brother of his would always threaten them using his fist. And right now, it was so unexpected that he would say such a thing. 

Well, for the time being, he wouldn’t fight with him for stealing their mother. 

Jiang Yun asked again, “Did Mom really get trapped in your hospital’s elevator today?” 

Gu Yizhou paused whatever he was doing. He wanted to deny it, but Jiang Yun beat him to it and directly said, “So, it really seems.” 

He simply based his conclusions from Gu Yuanyuan’s earlier expression. And combined with the hints that he got from Gu Yuanyuan, those are enough for him to understand the whole situation. 

Gu Yizhou was a little surprised at Jiang Yun’s sharp senses, but since the truth was already out, there was no need to hide it anymore. 

Then Jiang Yun said, “Well, since you’re not going to be the director of my hospital, then donating a few, new, and good quality elevators under your name should not be a problem. You cannot refuse it.”
 

Gu Yizhou: “…” 

He frowned at him. Donating an elevator was not a trivial matter, not to mention several elevators. Jiang seemed to know what he was going to say, and without further thinking, he immediately added, “It’s for you and for mom. I don’t want to hear in the future about her or you being trapped at the elevator again.” 

As Jiang Yun said that, Gu Yizhou could no longer reject his arrangements anymore. And immediately after that, Jiang Yun sharply spoke, “Although the environment here is not that bad, this place was still located in the middle of a busy city, and various people are crowding here. Hence, it was not convenient for Mom to live here. Anyway, just let her live with me in my place in the future.” 

Gu Yizhou had pretty much figured out that just like before, Jiang Yun still liked the style of giving a slap and then giving a sweet treat afterwards. This style of his hadn’t changed at all… He was already like this when they were kids. After using his fist to threaten the three little ones, Jiang Yun would always give them sweet treats just to coax them. 

Yet the three little ones still accepted it— not because they have no choice but to accept it, but mostly because they couldn’t win against him. 

Gu Yizhou gave a small cough. He could let Jiang Yun make any arrangements on other things, but definitely not for this one. 

“Big Brother, I may be living at the center of a busy city, but the soundproofing of this place is quite good too. Moreover, only two families were living on the first level just below this apartment, so there aren’t that many people here. Besides, you always have bodyguards around you. Mom is still young, and she is not used to it, so just let her live with me.” 

Jiang Yun: “…”
