Chapter 206: Because I Like Shu Nuan (10)
“Princess, have you thought about it? We all thought A’Che had an accident, but when the Qing Kingdom was conquered, he wouldn’t have thought that we’d escaped. A’Che really liked the princess. So what are you afraid of?”
“Nothing.” Shu Nuan sniffled and said, “When I was young, I grew up under A’Che’s care. Later, I lost my country, descending into a nightmare. I suffered more than a few times when I relied on the prince. Xuan Jiu, for once, I want to live on my own.”
Xuan Jiu was stunned again, probably having never expected that Shu Nuan would say something like that.
Xuan Jiu understood what she meant when she told him that she had to live alone.
His heart turned sour, and he remained silent for a while. He nodded gently and agreed.
“Well, I will listen to you. Where does Your Highness want to go?”
When they’d left the capital, the coachman had asked her the same question.
At that time, Shun Nuan had just let the driver go ahead.
Xuan Jiu had asked her the question knowing that she must’ve decided on an a place in her heart.
“I will go back to Beichuan.”
Beichuan had once been her fief. Her mother had died young, and Shu Nuan being an unfavored child had been rushed to Beichuan alon. Although it’d been said that Beichuan was her feudal land, she’d passed each day in helplessness and fear.
At that point in time, A’Che had arrived at Beichuan.
Xuan Jiu was shocked. He was expecting her to choose between the Nanchao Kingdom and the Beiman. These places were both feasible, but he hadn’t expected her to choose the place where she’d grown up.
Xuan Jiu frowned and said, “But Beichuan is now a territory of the Beiguo.”
“It isn’t. When I looked at a current map of the North, I found that Beichuan was divided by the boundaries of the Nanchao Kingdom. Perhaps when the Qing Kingdom was in a state of war, the Nanchao Kingdom intervened and gained a part of Beichuan.”
Xuan Jiu nodded and said, “The Nanchao Kingdom is not a bad place to go.”
Xuan Jiu believed that since A’Che was in the Nanchao Kingdom, if Shu Nuan really went to Beichuan, she would be able to find A’Che for help if a problem came up. It was better than falling into the hands of some Beiguo official.
As their conversation continued, the carriage moved further and further away from the capital.

Another cold night fell on the capital.
Sheng Qianmo sat on the roof of the Moon Pavilion, overlooking half of the capital.
Snow was falling.
As if the frost meant to envelop the entire city.
A stone was thrown up, followed by a familiar voice. “This is the best place to drink on such a cold day.”
Sheng Qianmo glanced down and saw Su Huang.
After going to the Moon Pavilion, Su Huang tossed wine down his throat like water. Sheng Qinamo narrowed his eyes and said, “This Prince remembers that you drank for half a month and did not recover.”
Su Huang paused for a while, then glanced at him with a faint smile.
“Do you want to drink for a few months?”
Sheng Qianmo was silent. He took a sip of wine and spat out a cloud of hot breath, before muttering, “No.”
“Can you handle it?”
“Of course.”
Su Huang smiled, “It’s so good.”
Sheng Qianmo drank another glass of wine.
He told himself that she’d just been a charming little girl that he’d been fascinated with for a little time. All he’d done was pay some attention to her.
That was all.
It was no big deal.
