Chapter 201: Because I Like Shu Nuan (5)

Ningcheng Yuan had a headache trying to persuade Sheng Qianmo.

“Brother Sheng, I have to remind you one thing, no, a few things. According to what I learned from Xuan Jiu, the relationship between A’Che and Shu Nuan is extremely special. They grew up together. Xuan Jiu also said that A’Che is the person she cares for the most. I’m telling you, if you don’t coax the little girl well this time, be careful that she’ll run away later.”

Sheng Qianmo sat at the table and took a sip of tea without a word.

Even if Ningcheng hadn’t said anything, Sheng Qianmo knew that the man had a strong impression on Shu Nuan, otherwise she wouldn’t have called out his name in her sleep.

Ningcheng looked at his calm face from a distance, feeling surprised, and said, “Brother Sheng, are you really that calm about this?”

“This Prince knows she wants to run,” Sheng Qianmo said lightly.

Although Shu Nuan hadn’t said or done anything, when she looked at him that little girl didn’t seem as unreserved as in the past, and she had no trace of emotion.

After that night in Southern Xinjiang, all her tender feelings for him seemed to have vanished.

It was all because of the way he’d approached the problem.

He’d thought what he’d done was nothing.

He didn’t mind it, and he thought that after returning to Shenghe Manor, he would compensate her and treat her kindly.

But he’d forgotten one thing; he’d broken his promise.

He’d lied to her.

The little girl had always been soft-hearted, but this time she truly hated him for actions.

Shu Nuan remembered that he’d lied to her, that he hadn’t trusted her, and that he’d hurt her. So she refused to forgive him.

However, he never thought of letting her go.

Before this incident, Sheng Qianmo might’ve been under the illusion that he was simply concerned about her.

He couldn’t deny that his life was no longer as boring as it used to be. That’s how he perceived their situation, until she’d told him that they had no future together. She’d taken root in his heart, although he wasn’t sure of her role in his life.

The only thing he knew for sure was that Shu Nuan’s relentless words were becoming ruthless, and every time she said them, his heart was hit hard, more painful than being stabbed.

However, he couldn’t say anything. He couldn’t tell anyone that he, General Sheng Qianmo, felt this way.

“Then… Did you think of a way? Let’s talk about Xuan Jiu. This little fool must be talking Shu Nuan into leaving. He told me that the reason why he appeared in Southern Xinjiang was to take Shu Nuan away, but she refused to leave with him at that time.”

Sheng Qianmo didn’t answer.

After a while, he hooked his lips and smiled.

His smile was a little odd.

He was laughing at himself.

Ningcheng Yuan bitterly smiled, and asked, “Brother Sheng, why are you laughing?”

Sheng Qianmo just quietly repeated his words, “She refused to go with him.”

Ningcheng Yuan was startled, but he soon understood what Sheng Qianmo had meant. He didn’t dare say anything more for a while.

After a while, Ningcheng Yuan couldn’t help but appease him.

“Brother Sheng, don’t blame yourself. If it were me in that case, I… No, I’m different from you. What I mean is… Your actions weren’t wrong, but Shu Nuan was wronged anyway. Explain it to her. She will understand you!”
