Chapter 200: Because I Like Shu Nuan (4)

Shun Nuan stared at the door while letting Sheng Qianmo put on her clothes.

Sheng Qianmo stood up and said, “Don’t move. This Prince will open the door.”

But the moment after his words fell, Shu Nuan stood up to follow him to the door. Sheng Qianmo glanced sideways and found the little girl behind him. Shu Nuan stopped and pressed her lips. She didn’t speak, but she didn’t step back either.

Sheng Qianmo couldn’t bring himself to stop her, so he put a cloak on her, and then he opened the door.

The door opened to reveal Ningcheng Yuan and Xuan Jiu waiting outside.

Shu Nuan had been thoroughly anxious that the army had tortured Xuan Jiu to extort a confession. After all, the boy was a citizen of Nanchao. Thus, she had been perpetually distressed about this matter. So, when Li Yuan announced that Xuan Jiu had come to find her, she didn’t care whether Sheng Qianmo would be angry and stood up to follow him anyway. When Nuan saw Xuan Jiu safe and sound, she was slightly relieved.

The moment Xuan Jiu laid eyes on Shu Nuan, his eyes turned sullen.

Xuan Jiu recalled how she’d looked at Southern Xinjiang. She’d been fine at that time. He’d persuaded her to leave with him, but she’d refused to leave, saying that she’d stay beside Sheng Qianmo. Now she was injured, and it was all his fault.

Ningcheng Yuan had begun paying attention to Xuan Jiu’s expression from the moment the door was opened. He was sure the boy was annoyed. Before Xuan Jiu could open his mouth and accidentally offend Qianmo, Ningcheng said, “Brother Sheng, this boy has been clamoring to see Shu Nuan. You… You should let them talk. I have something to talk to you about as well.”

Sheng Qianmo glanced toward Shu Nuan. He naturally saw that Nuan wanted to talk to Xuan Jiu. Therefore, Sheng Qianmo was silent for only a moment, and then he left the two alone in the hall.

Xuan Jiu stared at Shu Nuan indifferently for a long time. In the end, he couldn’t blame her anything and had to ask her, “How is your hand, Princess?”

“Broken. The bandage will be removed in a few days.”

Xuan Jiu glared at her and said, “Princess, you speak like it’s a minor injury… Don’t you hate him?”

Shu Nuan wasn’t in a mood to argue with him. She stared straight at him and asked, “A’Che is not dead?”

Hearing this, Xuan Jiu froze and nodded, “That Ningcheng Yuan said that A’Che is now the Commander General of the Nanchao Kingdom.”

For a while, Shu Nuan didn’t know what to say. The answer was beyond her expectation.

“Are you willing to leave this time, Princess?” Xuan Jiu couldn’t help but ask her.

Shu Nuan lowered her eyes, gently pursed her lips, and said nothing.

When she could leave, she wanted to stay. Now that she wanted to leave, she had no choice but to say.

She didn’t think Sheng Qianmo would let her go easily.

Xuan Jiu seemed to know what she was thinking, and said, “A’Che will definitely come to rescue you.”

As soon as she looked up, wanting to ask something, Xuan Jiu said, “If A’Che is in the Nanchao Kingdom, Ah’Qi will find him and bring him to us.”

“Xuan Jiu, this is the Beiguo Kingdom, not the Qing Kingdom.”

She’d learned that A’Che was still alive, and it was enough for her. She didn’t want to harm her Brother A’Che again by having him try to protect her.

Xuan Jiu frowned and pondered for a while, before saying, “Then we figure it out for ourselves. That Ningcheng Yuan has a problem with his brain. I can start with him.”

“…What do you mean?”
