Chapter 191: Deceiving Uncle Sheng (90)
Ningcheng Yuan finally agreed to take him to meet Shu Nuan at an appropriate time.
He couldn’t take him now, after all, the boy was considered a spy, and there had been various rumors going around the capital. He was afraid that if he took the boy to the Shenghe Manor, it would be discovered by the emperor. The result would not be easy to deal with.

At that time, the Imperial Palace Qian Xin was quiet and cold.
Chi Yun had been married to the emperor, but after her execution, there was a dead silence in the palace. The emperor had sat in the courtyard of Qian Xin palace for two nights, thinking about what Chi Yun had said before her death.
She told him that they had twin children, but she didn’t tell him about their whereabouts. She asked him to remember this regret until he was old.
Sheng Nanchen thought he was hard-hearted enough, but now that she was dead, he was saddened as never before.
But he knew this wasn’t right. Chi Yun had been a spy, and all the years they’d spent together, her devotion toward him had been her job.
He knew he shouldn’t grieve for her, but the truth was that he couldn’t let her go.
So his thoughts were anchored on his twin children. He wanted to find them.
General Tian had chosen several burial sites for the empress, but all were rejected by the emperor.
“What is the emperor’s plan?”
“She was my only queen and will be buried in the Imperial Mausoleum.”

Shu Nuan’s voice had improved over the past few days. She would eat. She would sit in the yard outside for a while. And when the wind turned cold, she would go back in to sleep.
She had been recuperating for a few days, and she was much better, but she still didn’t talk and kept staring to the distance quietly
Sheng Qianmo came back that day and saw her sitting in a daze on the cold stone stairs. He frowned and went to pick her up and carried her back to the hall. He asked Shu Nuan’s servant if they had changed their medicine. The answer was a no.
Sheng Qianmo then instructed the servants to prepare hot water before untying Nuan’s clothes gently. After bathing her, he changed the medicine and wrapped gauze on her right hand.
“Say if it still hurts.”
Shu Nuan didn’t speak, lying on his shoulder at his mercy. She looked at the lamp on the case without blinking.
After reapplying the medicinal balm, Sheng Qianmo grabbed her white slender ankle and wiped the water dripping from it. He asked, “Do you want to drink water?”
Although he talked, he knew that she wouldn’t answer him. Then he held her mouth and poured water into it. He put her on the stool, poured her a cup of tea, and thinking that she wouldn’t take it, he raised the cup to her lips. However, Shu Nuan stretched out her left hand to take the cup.
Then, Sheng Qianmo’s voice came from the top of her head, as he said, “I have asked someone to investigate this matter carefully.”
Shu Nuan just took a sip of tea and did not speak.
“Shu Nuan, This Prince knows you can speak,” Sheng Qianmo said, still staring at her.
Shu Nuan finally raised her head and stared straight at him with calm and gentle eyes.
Then the cup fell from her hand.
With a thud, the tea spilled and the cup broke.
Shu Nuan bowed down to pick up the cup fragments, cutting her finger by accident, but she only looked at it quietly.
After being brought back to the Sheng Courtyard, Shu Nun spoke for the first time. Her voice was still dull and very low. However, she enunciated each word.
“If it is broken, it will never be the same again.”
