Chapter 98 – Angry Dr. Zhou

The children stopped.

“Do you know Xiaoyuan?” Su Jinbei nearly yelled to make her voice be heard over the rain.

“Xiaoyuan? Yeah, he’s my classmate,” said one of the children.

Su Jinbei’s eyes lit up, “Then do you know where he is?”

“Hm, I don’t know. I only know that he went with Yangyang after school…”

“Who is Yangyang?! Where is his house?!”

”Yangyang is also our classmate, and his house is right in front.”

“Right in front?” Su Jinbei felt joy wash over her, “Uh, could you please lead me there? His family is looking for him.”

The children exchanged glances at each other, “Um, okay, then.”

Su Jinbei breathed a sigh of relief. She was so close to finding him. Su Jinbei followed the children to Yangyang’s house.

The children were used to the rocky mountain paths so they climbed a lot faster than Su Jinbei while Su Jinbei could barely keep up with them even with all her efforts.

“Hey, kid, I thought you said it was right in front?!”

Up the mountain, the children looked at each other. They had to walk a lot every day, trekking through mountains and rivers to get to school, so they didn’t think this distance was far.

But Su Jinbei didn’t consider that fact and took the literal sense when they said it was just ahead!

Having just got back from the search as well, Zhou Shiyun took off his wet raincoat and saw Lin Qingwei. He looked behind him and around but he didn’t see any sign of Su Jinbei.

“Qingwei.”

“Yes, Senior Brother!”

“Where is Su Jinbei?”

“Huh?” Lin Qingwei was confused, “Didn’t she come back early?”

A young nurse who had been stationed at the building said, “Come back early? No, I haven’t seen her come back.”

Zhou Shiyun’s heart fell to his stomach, “What’s going on?”

Lin Qingwei was frightened, he stammered, “Well, just now, I was looking with Jinbei and she was soaked all over. I-I was afraid that she would get sick so I told her to come back first a-and I would continue looking…:”

“Why did you let her go alone on such a dark night!” Zhou Shiyun exploded.

The people present were all startled, even Xiaoyuan, who had been crying after being scolded just now, didn’t dare make a sound. Everyone looked at Zhou Shiyun in wonder. Zhou Shiyun was usually cold and difficult to approach but he was never the type to scold someone nor had he ever spoken in such an angry manner. Zhou Shiyun’s face right now was so scary that no one dared to speak.

Zhou Shiyun stepped forward with a sullen face, “Where did you separate just now?”

Lin Qingwei’s brain was no longer functioning, “A-at… I’ll take you there!”

Zhou Shiyun nooded, shook off everyone and ran out. Lin Qingwei quickly ran after him.

The people behind saw the two running into the rain and reacted late, “Dr. Zhou, your raincoat!”
