Chapter 97 – The Search

Su Jinbei had been staying there for quite a while. She didn’t bring any clothes, so she could only borrow Liu Tingting’s clothes. There was a lot of ‘vintage’ fashion in Liu Tingting’s wardrobe. Su Jinbei thought they would be fun to wear and actually wore them out to the market. No one would recognize her here anyway, Su Jinbei thought.

It was just after five o’clock that day and it had started to drizzle. Because of the rian, some members of the medical team got off work early so that the villagers who lived far could go back first.

“Put this on.” Zhou Shiyun entered the property and handed his coat to Su Jinbei.

Because Su Jinbei was taller than Liu Tingting, Liu Tingting’s clothes were rather short on her, it was quite comical. Su Jinbei picked it up and slid her arms into the sleeves, “It’s raining.”

Su Jinbei turned around and walked into the house. Just then, Zhang Chao’s urgent voice came from behind her, “Shiyun! Is Xiaoyuan here with you?!”

“Then where did this naughty boy go?! I’ve searched all around and haven’t found him!”

Lin Qingwei, “Dr. Zhang, don’t worry. Could he be playing hide and seek?”

Zhou Shiyun said, “Isn’t he supposed to be in school today?”

“Yes, but he should’ve been back around this time. I checked the school too and asked Tingting, but I couldn’t find Xiaoyuan.” Zhang Chao looked more anxious the more he spoke.

Zhou Shiyun frowned and turned back to the others and said, “Have a few people stay behind to deal with the remaining patients. The rest, split up and look for Xiaoyuan nearby.”

“Noted, Dr. Zhou.”

Xiaoyuan would often come to play with them. They were all very fond of the child and were of course willing to help search for the child now that he was missing.

“I’ll go with you.” Seeing Zhou Shiyun was about to leave when Su Jinbei took his hand.

“It’s raining, you should stay. Don’t go out.”

“Jinbei, your clothes are all wet. You should go back first.”
