Chapter 125

Translator and Editor: Effe and Nabi

It was decided that Tori and the puppies would be raised by the knights. The knights gave strength to their shoulders, saying that they would raise the puppies as military dogs, but in fact, Iellie found it impossible.

“A military dog… Is it possible for those little ones to become military dogs?”

“No way, the knights just want to keep dogs. They’re just making excuses.”

Zachary commented with a calm face.

A peaceful time passed.

While the businesses she was preparing were also on their way, the day finally came. It was the day she opened her salon. Iellie prepared her own salon with great care. She handed out invitations to all noble ladies in the North and also opened a new annex in the Duke’s castle. It was all to press Countess Laurent’s salon.

“The original purpose of the salon is usually this.”

“Yes?”

“Periodically, the guest rooms of noble families are opened to invite celebrities from the cultural world.”

On the day of the decisive battle, after waking up early in the morning and having a meal with Zachary, she spoke with a determined face.

“And discussing and critiquing the work while providing meals or refreshments.”

“Oh, really?”

Iellie nodded her head at Zachary, who was munching on the well-cooked fried egg as he tilted his head.

“Though lately, the purpose has changed a bit, and it has changed to become where noble ladies have tea time.”

Like she was about to stab a general in the enemy camp, she continued her words firmly, clutching her fork.

“I want to bring that purpose back.”

“If we could bring purpose back…”

“It’s kind of cliche to just talk about art and have tea time.”

Picking up the fork and poking at the sausage, she shook it. The light green eyes twinkled as she continued.

“So, I want to create a place where women can create their own art.”

“Create their own art?”

Zachary was a little taken aback. Those kinds of things used to be dismissed as the domain of men. They would be glaring at women entering the art world.

Iellie continued.

“Yes. Drawing, writing, singing… there are many ways.”

As she answered with narrowed eyes, Zachary rolled his eyes. It sounded fresh.

“Also, if there are talented female artists, I would like to invite them to see their art.”

“Still, there aren’t that many female artists themselves.”

“That’s why it’s more valuable.”

He burst into laughter. As always, most of his heavy worries became light whenever he was with her.

In the meanwhile, Iellie emptied her plate clean and set the fork down with a firm motion.

“I really enjoyed the meal. As expected, you should fill your stomach before going to fight.”

“Hey, Len. Going to a fight, what do you mean?”

He glanced up at Iellie, a little flustered, as she smiled brightly at him.

“Oh, you don’t know?”

“What?”

“This is a ladies’ fight.”

She clenched her fist with shining eyes as she said so. Looking at his wife like that, he couldn’t help but smile back.

“Alright. If you’re going to fight, go and win.”

“Of course. Trust me.”

Answering confidently, she turned around as Zachary watched her back with a smile.

At the time of the wedding ceremony, the esteemed guests were accepted on a limited basis, so this time, all noble ladies from the North were deliberately invited. There was not a single lady who expressed that they did not intend to attend the invitation sent by Iellie.

“It looks like there will be quite a lot of people.”

“I know.”

Zachary stared at Iellie. She was looking into the mirror with combative moves.

“Do you need to care that much?”

“A lady’s dress and accessories are like a knight’s armor and sword.”

“…Is that so?”

“It is. The purpose of today’s dressing up is ‘It doesn’t seem like she’s dressed up, but she has paid attention from head to toe’.”

Explaining firmly, she then turned her around and put her hands on her hips. Iellie declared to her husband.

“How am I today?”

“Very pretty.”

She smiled at his firm answer. It was worthwhile that Mary had decorated her with all her heart and soul earlier. She squinted at the mirror. Despite the light makeup, her cheeks are dyed peach and lively.

“Then, I will go.”

“Len, wait a minute before we go.”

Zachary lightly took her wrist. He placed his hands on Iellie’s shoulders and bowed his head lightly.

Kiss.

His lips touched her forehead with a sound. He spoke, closing his eyes softly.

“And I want to escort you to the annex, can I?”

“Uh, um…”

Iellie lowered her eyelashes as her cheeks were strangely burning. With a slight stutter, she muttered.

“Don, don’t you think you’re a little overprotective?”

“So what?”

Zachary said in a soft voice. Zachary reached out his hand to her and spoke in a polite voice.

“Shall we go, Lady?”

Gazing down at the hand he held out to her, she turned her head slightly before eventually placing her hand on top of his.

“…Of course, Sir.”

She struggled to put on a calm face and walked ahead. He swallowed a laugh and escorted Iellie.

In order for her to have a salon, an annex was opened in the Duke’s castle. Of course, while it was a small building compared to the size of the Duke’s castle, compared to a typical salon with only a parlor, it was massive.

The guests who entered the annex in advance took a break and were treated to Asha flower tea and refreshments.

“I heard that the Princess also favored this tea?”

“I know. In fact, I was also very curious.”

What aroused the ladies’ curiosity the most was the Asha flower tea and jam, which were first introduced at the Ducal couple’s wedding. It was delicious, and the shape was very pretty, so it was highly utilized in many ways.

“Though the petals are blooming like this… how did they make it?”

“The taste is great, too.”

As the noble ladies who were invited had a whispered conversation, laughter intermittently interspersed with small conversations.

“Come to think of it, Countess Laurent was also present this time, right?”

“But I heard that County Laurent was not invited to the Ducal couple’s wedding.”

When the ladies who were talking like that glanced away, at the end of their line of sight was Countess Laurent sitting alone with her back straight. In addition, there were faint smiles crept across the ladies’ lips.

It was a mockery.

“If it were me, I would have refused even if my pride was hurt…”

“How can she get out of it? It’s the Duchess’ salon, not anywhere else.”

The only Duchess of the Empire and the mistress of the North. To refuse to come to the Duchess’ salon was more like giving up her social activities in the North. Perhaps that was why she was forced to attend.

“Still, she can’t avoid doing social activities in the North, so she must have come on purpose, right?”

“Well, I suppose so. It’s a bit… shameless, though.”

“That’s right. I heard that there were quite a few bad times with the Duke, let alone the Duchess…”

As the sneering that mingled with their whispering voice was keenly noticed by Countess Laurent, the Countess clenched her fists. Her bones stand out white above her fists.

The noble ladies spoke softly.

“I guess Lady Laurent didn’t come down after all?”

“That’s right, Lady Laurent always stays in the capital.”

“Lady Laurent is also a noble from the north, so why does she stay in the capital for long?”

Countess Laurent’s lips trembled. The ladies changed the subject only after talking for a while. Favorable conversations continued, such as how the tea and refreshments were delicious and how elegant the annex looked.

‘How could this be…!’

Only Countess Laurent had a nervous face like she was sitting on a thorny cushion. The most prestigious salon in the North was hers. She thought that later, too, her daughter would socialize through the salon.

‘At this rate, the Duchess’s salon will become more famous than ours.’

The Countess swallowed dryly at the thought. She knew it well, as she had long been at the heart of northern society.

The current salon, which was newly opened by Iellie, was flawless.
