Prim approached him carefully. Reynsis was dazed but he quickly looked away.

“No.”

Prim turned the table back as she glanced at him.

“I’m sorry I went out all of a sudden today. I had an emergency.”

“Coffee.”

Suddenly he murmured.

“What?”

“I smell coffee.”

When she heard him, she felt a sudden thump and grabbed the hem of her dress.

The smell must have been too strong. Prim just shrugged it off with some excuses.

“Yes. I like coffee.

“……”

“But you must have been reading all this time.”

She bent over to pick up a book.

[BAMM]

He snatched the book that was in her hand. In such a rapid move, Prim stared at him blankly.

“Do not look.”

Reynsis muttered while his face burned red.3

“I am more curious if you say so.”

“No.”

“…..??”

What is wrong with him?

Prim suddenly remembered the rated 19 books that the maids were talking about. They hide it in secret. Only those who have lived in this palace can find it.3

Don’t tell me…

A smile formed on her lips as Prim tried to peek and see the title. Then Reynsis snapped and moved away.

“What are you doing? Aren’t you going away?”

“I want to see the book.”

“You’re mad as hell. You can’t see it.”

“Oh my, Your Highness, I can see it.”

“You!”

The teasing was excellent. Prim laughed at him.

Reynsis hugged the book with a surprised look.

“Just kidding. I haven’t seen it.”

“…..”

Then Reynsis shut his mouth tight. His face had been visibly red.3

Prim just giggled when she saw his burning face.

“I have to go now. Have a good night.”

Prim turned and tried to get out of the room.

“…Tomorrow.”

“What?”

“Are you going out again tomorrow?”

Reynsis asked carefully while looking at her. Prim turned her head and looked at him.

“Is tomorrow going to be the same as it is today?”

Prim shook her head. It was after these that she and Elena met.

“No, we are going to have a class tomorrow.”

You’re looking forward to it, aren’t you?

Prim, who deliberately smiled while looking at Reynsis, waiting for his answers.

But Reynsis didn’t say much. On the contrary, he looked a little bit squashed.

“……Yes.”

And even nodding his head.1

Prim was startled with his reaction.

What happened while I was gone? Prim felt a little worried.1

“Did something happen while I was gone? Don’t tell me it Prince Daphs again.”

“What?”

His expression became tense.

“What’s his name for again?”

“Nothing.”

Prim is a bit restless.

“Well, in case he comes here again and bullies you.”

“What the hell are you talking about? Even if you’re here, I don’t get hit like that.”

“I’m glad to hear that.”

Prim looked relieved. But somehow Reynsis’s face seemed more distorted.

“That’s enough. Get out of here. “

“What?”

“Get out.”

He gave her a short reply and turned away. Heh, he is 16 years old afterall. She wanted to give him a big clap.

“Then don’t sleep well.”

“What?”

Reynsis’s voice was so harsh. Prim quickly changed her words.

“Ah, I said good night. I’m going to get going.”

Prim left the room quickly.

The door closed as the red hair disappeared. Only then, Reynsis could put the book down.

2

Looking at the title of the book, he suddenly crumpled the imagination. He never thought he’d read a book like this.

Reynsis stared at the book as he breathed out a sigh.

Reynsis recalled the day,

A spring day when the cherry blossom petal falls as if it was a flowery rain.

Leaning deeply on the chair, he looked back at the ceiling.

Pink. The colour is a bit similar to red. It was lighter than blood, a little more transparent.

Reynsis closed his eyes slowly to recall the color he saw for the first time.

But all he could think of was Prim’s smiling face.

‘I must be crazy.’1

Reynsis turned his head out of the window. The black-and-white world had been encroached upon by a sinking night.

Dark prison.

Even as he was looking at it, his heart hurts.

Then his eyes began to sting again.

The pain that had been bothering Reynsis for a long time was soon gone, the black grey sky, which was erased by the sun.

***

The next day, Prim looked at Reynsis with a serious face.
The coffee fragrance in front of her that made her feel good.

“….Pshh.”

Reynsis, who fixed his eyes on the book spat out.

“So now could you please look at me?” (Prim)

“…….”

“I am always looking at you, but you’re only looking at books.”

Reynsis shifts his gaze to Prim. Prim’s face was colored in his eyes.

(means: her face is pinkish)

“Who said so?”

Reynsis asked.

“Huh?”

“Who said that I only read books?”1

Prim lost her words for a moment. She doesn’t know if he was oblivious or he pretended not to know. Reynsis spent the whole day in his study, or his own.

Because he only read books in his room.

(Reynsis) “But,”

Reynsis glanced at the cup in front of her as he mumbled.

(Reynsis) “That.”

“This cup?”

“…Drink it or throw it away. The scent is so thick that it’s annoying.”

Prim quickly picked up the cup. The soft aroma of coffee made her feel better.

Reynsis stared at her smile then murmured.

“I think it’s true.”

“Hmm?”

“You look like a crook, too.”

Lies!

Her smile faded because she was startled with the sudden insult.

She was happy for a moment but it was amazing to see her reaction change right away.

Prim seemed to pay attention to every word he said, every word he said.

Reynsis put coffee in front of her. To say that he likes coffee is actually a nope.

Then why doesn’t she bring me my favorite food?

It was obvious even if he didn’t look at it. She might be very happy, saying,

“This is heaven with red strawberry. “

In his vivid imagination, Reynsis smiled unconsciously.2

“Uh, ….”

With the startled voice, Reynsis raised his head. Prim was staring at him with a puzzled look on her face.

“What.”

“A moment ago, you just smile.”

“….”

Prim picked up her index finger and poked it around her mouth. She felt like a person pinching her cheek to wake up from a dream.

Reynsis quickly erased his expression and turned to the book as if nothing had happened.

“You saw it wrong. “

“But,”

Prim was wary of Reynsis. His face was cold all over. Like it was a mistake.

‘This is strange.’

Fluffy faced Prim leaned her head forward and fiddled with the cup.

Reynsis secretly stared at her eyes.

***

“Is the painter exclusive to the Imperial Palace?”

Prim asked Elena again with a surprised look.

“Yes. The Imperial picks their own favorite painting, and the painter paints it. The painter will be honored to serve as an exclusive painter for the Imperial Palace. You can live in the palace if you are an exclusive painter. Besides, they don’t have to put in a lot of effort. Isn’t that great?”

Elena looked as if she were happy to imagine it.

“How nice it would be to be able to paint portraits of the royal family.”

“You’ll be executed if you draw them wrong.” (Prim)2

“You must be very happy, is it that right Prim?”

Prim’s words seemed dull to Elena as she continued her speech with an enthusiastic face.

“I’m really curious. The Emperor and the future Crown Prince. They said he is really dazzling. How beautiful the 8th Prince’s beauty would really be?”

“Oh, that’s true. His beauty is beyond all words in the world.”

“Have you ever seen the 8th Prince?”

Oh, my. Did I pretend to know too much?

After a bit of thinking, Prim nodded.

“Yes, I’m teaching the Prince by accident.”

“Are you okay? Listen to me, the painters who taught the prince —”

“That’s all a lie!”

Elena looked at Prim with a surprised look.

Prim shouted in a loud voice. Thanks to her, the eyes of the people around focused towards them.

“The painters lied! Look, I’m fine.”

“Prim?”

“This hand was hurt because I was clumsy. It has nothing to do with the Prince!”

“Alright, okay. I trust you.”

Elena nodded. Otherwise, Prim seemed to get even angrier.

“And you said you were teaching the Prince, right?”

Elena looked down at the canvas before her eyes.

“…”

“…”

There was a silence between the two. Elina’s face was serious. Prim had a dumbfounded face.

“It’s different, isn’t it?”

“Yes, it’s really different.”

In other words, it meant strange.

Prim couldn’t draw. Therefore, the “real Prim” may have been well as a painter but the “fake Prim” that came into the body was not talented in painting.

However, she should not show her skills here. Then, it was all over.

“There were many forms of art in my hometown. This is my drawing in my own way. Think about it. Elena, you shouldn’t have taken me. Did I order it?”

“That’s true, but…”

Eleanor looked sideways at Prim’s painting as if it was hard to believe.

“Elina, what I’m after is avant-garde.”

What?”

“Avant-garde”

(Note: The avant-garde are people or works that are experimental, radical, or unorthodox with respect to art, culture, or society.)

“……What is it?”

“Like this.”

Prim pointed to her painting and said as Elena, who was only pouting, said with a serious look.

“You said there were many forms of art in Prim’s hometown, right?”

“Yes.”

“Then I’ll show you what arts are popular in the Empire”.

“… Yes?”

“So that no one is suspicious of the Prince.”

Elena’s eyes began to twinkle with enthusiasm.

The manipulation was not working. Prim realized something was wrong.
