How We Love - Volume 1 Chapter 2
Chapter 2 – Brilliant Idea
Cai Xin called Yue Sisi, her childhood friend, to meet her for dinner. At dinner, Cai Xin told Yue Sisi that her parents had forced her to find a boyfriend to bring home for Chinese New Year. Burdened by her emotions, she said, “Tell me, don’t you think they’re forcing me to a dead-end here? Where the hell can I find a son-in-law to bring back for them?!”
Yue Sisi had a look of disapproval, “Why are you even worrying about this? Just go rent one online, duh!”
Cai Xin’s eyes lit up, “You’re right! Problems that can be solved with money shouldn’t be called a problem at all! What am I even worrying for~ I can just look online for one when I get home.” She finally calmed down and started gobbling food up.
Yue Sisi smiled at her with interest, “Choy Sum1 [javascript:void(0)]Yes, the vegetable. It’s pronounced the same as Cai Xin, be honest with me. Is Liu Yishuang the reason you’re still not putting yourself out there?”
Cai Xin choked. She grabbed her cup and sipped on the water, “No way.”
A charming smile bloomed on Yue Sisi’s face, “It’ll be weird if it wasn’t the case! Don’t hide it anymore, come on, he and I ended things centuries ago. I really didn’t know you liked him at first, otherwise, I would never have accepted him. What are we? Best friends are like limbs, men are like clothes2 [javascript:void(0)]Sisters before misters! Don’t you remember, that piece of clothing left me to go abroad a few years ago?”
Cai Xin brought the cup she had just put down back to her mouth, “Weren’t you the one asking to break up that time?” She gulped down her water.
“Choy Sum, I know you have the habit of drinking water when you’re nervous…” Yue Sisi asked tentatively, “Don’t tell me you’re still hung up over this?”
Cai Xin finished her water, put down the glass and wiped her mouth. She squeezed out a giggle, “What is there to be hung up over? It’s true that I liked him first, but he still has the right to like you. Besides, it happened so long ago, why are you bringing this up?”
Yue Sisi laughed, “You’re right! Why did I mention him! Here, I’ll show you this website where you can rent a guy to bring home!”
Cai Xin laughed with her, “Okay!”

Back home in the evening, Cai Xin turned off the lights and laid in bed after showering. She dragged her iPad over from beside her pillow.
The screen turned on, showing the Weibo profile of someone called “Liu Yishuang”. The first Weibo post was one that was recently posted, attached was a picture. Cai Xin clicked on the picture. The man in the picture was instantly enlarged, he was looking at the camera smiling brightly.
Cai Xin stared at the screen, looking at Liu Yishuang smiling with a row of neat, white teeth. Her heart turned sour. His eyes looking at the camera seemed to pierce through the screen and looked straight at her. However, he might not even know who was hiding under this account who liked his Weibo posts every day. Thinking back to her conversation with Yue Sisi at dinner, Cai Xin sighed and pressed the power button. She then put the iPad aside, intending to sleep, but after tossing and turning, Cai Xin couldn’t sleep at all.
She sighed again, resigned to her fate. She picked up the iPad once more and reopened Liu Yishuang’s Weibo profile. She first scanned through every Weibo he posted today, then read through the comments of each post. Afterwards she went to stalk the profile of every woman who commented, only leaving after she couldn’t find traces of any special relationship between the woman and Liu Yishuang. Finally, she liked all of Liu Yishuang’s posts.
Done, Cai Xin finally felt fulfilled. She put down her iPad. But still, she couldn’t sleep. Her thoughts gradually drifted unconsciously to recall her verdant youth.
Liu Yishuang was her high school classmate; he was smart, handsome and tall, and was a male god that many female students had a crush on, including herself. For Liu Yishuang, she applied to the same university during college entrance examinations and finally ended up an art and design major of X University. She studied diligently, expending countless brain cells and almost losing her life until she barely passed.
Along with the years gradually going by in university, her unrequited love for Liu Yishuang grew stronger. When it was so strong that she couldn’t hold it in anymore and had to confess, she suddenly found out that Liu Yishuang already had a girlfriend. That girlfriend was none other than the girl who she grew up with and enrolled in a university in the same city, Yue Sisi.
When she found out that the two of them were together, Cai Xin didn’t know what she should feel. She wanted to cry, but the tears wouldn’t flow. This happened every time she saw Liu Yishuang.
