Chapter 35.3: The Means Are Simple and Rough

The Count sent four knights to protect Shen Lang.

Speaking of the white faced lotus, he looked ephemeral dressed in regal brocade with a jade crown sitting atop his head as he rode on the carriage. Soon as he entered Xuanwu City, he became the sole focus and attention.

Countless fingers pointed towards him.

Shen Lang was already a legendary figure, no, a notorious legendary figure. Many knew of his past, background, and appearance.

A trash white lotus doll who entered the House of Xu as their son-in-law only to be driven out, and three days later, he quickly hugged the thighs of the Count’s Palace and the daughter’s soft rice.

How can a man be so… shameless?

Yet, they looked at him with indignation; their eyes burned an eager jealousy while vomiting blood. Their organs even churned.

“This waste is so arrogant now that he’s become the Count’s son-in-law.”

“Yes, look at the clothes he’s wearing. It’s enough to feed my family for three years.”

“Shameless… so if you can’t read well or know how to labor, you’re simply able to abandon your god given duties and eat the soft rice whenever one simply chooses to? The Count must be blind to choose such a man as the husband for his daughter.”

“You see, give it half a month at most and he’ll surely be kicked out from the Count’s Palace. He thinks too full of himself! Arrogant!”

“Yes, you’re right.”

Shen Lang remained indifferent to the outsiders words and contentedly sat on the carriage comfortably as he dozed off.

***

In the front gates of Fugui Square, Shen Lang elegantly step foot out of the carriage and entered the gambling hall.

The four knights walking at a precise pace behind donned a weird look.

The young master plans to gamble? This… what is he planning?

The Count’s Family holds a strict law that the most lackadaisical and dandy member dared not step foot inside a gambling house else he plans to have his legs broken by Count Jin.

What sort of noble men enters a gambling hall?

A black sheep!

And Shen Lang, the black sheep, should he not behave himself? He only entered the Count’s Palace not too long ago. Dressed in fine satin clothing, he dared to swagger openly into the casino.

Who would tell him? Not the warriors of the Count’s Palace. Their only duty was to protect Shen Lang, not admonish him of his behavior despite their distasteful view towards it.

How can the trash Shen Lang deserve Miss Mulan?

Since he wants to make a death wish of himself, it would be better to let him go! Have him make a fool of himself to the point of the Count driving him out.

***

The Fugui Square casino was ran by Tian Nineteen, one of Tian Heng’s righteous son. He countenance was stunned then turned to one of ecstasy seeing the figure of Shen Lang appear.

Since he took the first initiative to step foot inside the territory of the Black Warrior Gang, was he not making a fool of himself?

“Oh, isn’t this the young master of the Count’s Palace? Welcome, welcome!” Tian Nineteen exclaimed. “Come, serve this man a good tea!”

Shen Lang sat down and tasted the tea.

“Young Master Shen, are you here to visit or do you plan to play?” Tian Nineteen asked curiously.

“Of course, I’m here to play a few games.”

“Great!” Tian Nineteen’s eyes flashed.

Since father and this white lotus already have an irreconcilable grudge, is this not the best chance to win father’s trust? Since this white lotus took the initiative to die, I’ll play death! Let’s let him lose tens of thousands of gold coins, then accuse the Count’s Palace for being unable to pay it. Shen Lang would be finished! He’ll be driven out of the Count’s Palace with broken legs.

The possibility of Shen Lang not winning never crossed Tian Nineteen’s mind. This was his gambling house, his territory, his domain!
