Chapter 74: Because I Want To Kiss You (1) 

Xia City’s southern coastal residential area was a wealthy district. Aside from the high-end apartments and high-end villas, the area was completely empty and deserted. Only occasionally, like on the 30th day of the Lunar New Year, that sounds of sporadic fireworks could be heard. 

Su Qiuzi sat on the passenger seat as the car drove over the coastal highway. She looked ahead at the receding white lines on the road and became lost in her thoughts. 

“Nervous?” He Yu drove the car and asked bluntly. 

They were headed towards the He Family’s residence, and Su Qiuzi hadn’t spoken much since she got into the car. This was the first time she was going to see the Old Master of the He Family; or rather, the Old Master was the one who had asked to see her. When she and He Yu got married, he was so furious that he didn’t attend the wedding. Now he wanted to see her, which was not a good sign. 

“A little.” Su Qiuzi nodded in acknowledgment. Then she smiled a bit and said, “Your grandfather doesn’t like me.” 

Actually, Su Qiuzi knew how to deal with people who didn’t like her. After all, she had first-hand experience with the Su Family for over twenty years. But Old Master He and the Su Family were different. The Su Family would never throw her out of the house anyway because they were trying to save their image, but Old Master He might not be the same. 

Su Qiuzi’s heart was filled with troubling thoughts, making her look a bit glum. The car stopped in front of the traffic light and He Yu looked at her sideways, saying indifferently, “No, he’ll like you for sure.”
 

Whether he liked her or not, Su Qiuzi wouldn’t force him to, but after chatting with He Yu for a while her heart wasn’t so nervous anymore. She had heard before that He Yu’s refined and elegant character was something that had been inherited from Old Master He. He Yu was so gentle and easy to get along with, so Old Master He shouldn’t be too far from it. 

When they arrived at the He Family’s residence, Su Qiuzi got out of the car along with He Yu. At the entrance stood a middle-aged woman in a cheongsam, who greeted them with a smile. He Yu introduced her as Aunt Zhai, the family’s housekeeper. 

Su Qiuzi greeted her softly and Aunt Zhai smiled back gently, saying, “Go in, the Old Master has been waiting in the tea hall.” 

Aunt Zhai was very pretty and polite. Not only her, but also the gardeners Su Qiuzi met when she walked to the tea hall with He Yu and passed by the small garden. It really had to be like this. The atmosphere of a home could reveal the temperament of the elders, and the tension in Su Qiuzi’s heart gradually lightened. 

Once they arrived at the villa, He Yu brought Su Qiuzi to the third floor which was where the tea hall was located. With a knock on the door before entering, He Yu looked slightly puzzled at the sight of a middle-aged man standing beside his grandfather, but he nonetheless called out with a smile, “Uncle Yang.” 

Yang Zoshu was the leader of the group of lawyers that worked for the He Family. Having been loyal to the family for many years, Old Master He trusted him highly, and all the internal household documents of the family passed through his hands. 

It was the first time that Su Qiuzi met the Old Master of the He Family, who was over seventy years old but was still vigorous and elegant with no clear sign of being over the age in appearance. When she and He Yu entered the room, the old man turned and looked at them with a pair of black eyes that were keen and sharp. 

Old Master He was still somewhat different from He Yu. He Yu was warm and gentle, and even though he had a wolfish side inside him, he never showed it in public eyes, always maintaining his polite and courteous gentlemanly character. 

Old Master He, on the other hand, was different. Although he was refined in temperament, his gaze was keen and sharp, like an eagle on the prairie overlooking everything within his territory. 

He first gave a glance at He Yu, then looked at Su Qiuzi. With only a casual look, Su Qiuzi’s already relaxed heart was beating fast again.
 

The Old Master’s appearance was elegant, but his voice was loud and strong. He looked at He Yu and said, “Since both of you are already here, have Lawyer Yang speak to you about the divorce.” 

The Old Master spoke in a plain and simple manner, saying this as if he were saying that he was having the family’s annual dinner planned. Not expecting him to be so blunt, Su Qiuzi was stunned. Making them get divorced just after arriving, ah. 

As soon as He Yu saw the family’s lawyer Yang Zoshu, he immediately knew what was going on. He Yu stood there quietly, smiling helplessly as he gently refused. “I’m not going to divorce her.”
