Chapter 71: Crisis At Work (2) 

But just as Cai Jiayu was bound by Cao Tingping, she was also bound by He Yu. Plus, this was all based on the fact that she and He Yu were married. 

However, she would have graduated in June of this year. After graduation, the TV station would pass on the official information and then the official employment would be processed in July. It was mid-January, and with less than five months to go, she and He Yu should not be divorced. 

During the Spring Festival Night Party rehearsal for the recording, Su Qiuzi had been helping on the backstage as Cao Tingping had arranged. Actually, Cao Tingping was right, this position was indeed a good place to learn. Here, she gained the most direct view of the host’s entire process of presiding over the Spring Festival Night Party. 

There were four hosts for this year’s Spring Festival Night Party, in addition to Zhu Meng and Chen Ming, there was another female host from the variety show and a male co-host from the news show. 

Zhu Meng could be considered as a veteran in the station. She was very capable and had a good attitude towards people. For Zhu Meng’s sake, the other three hosts were also being friendly to Su Qiuzi, occasionally giving her pointers or making small talk with her. Su Qiuzi got along with them very well. 

The recording began late in the afternoon of spring and was actually not as serious as one might think. When the recording began, Su Qiuzi knew it wasn’t a rehearsal anymore and was still a bit nervous, afraid that doing the logistics poorly would affect the host’s play. As the recording progressed, however, the hosts’ composure loosened at their own pace and she eased some of the tension. 

While the entertainment was being performed outside, the four hosts were standing at the side of the stage waiting for the show. Su Qiuzi was standing along with them. After those few people chatted idly for a while, the topic turned to Su Qiuzi. The hostess from the variety show looked at Su Qiuzi and asked, “What type of host would you like to be?”
 

In the event that one could remain at the station, the type of show they would have was to be arranged by the station. Whereas the new hosts, who had just joined the team, would usually do the early morning show first. The early morning program was generally either the political or documentary category. If it was done well, and after a certain accumulation of experience, then there would be additional arrangements. 

Su Qiuzi hadn’t graduated yet and her thoughts now were also on how she could remain in the TV station, a long term issue that she had never considered. When she was in school, she had spoken about it with her professor. With her good looks and her quick wit, she could actually be a variety show host. 

But now Su Qiuzi didn’t think she could be a variety host, she was more interested in being a documentary host or a news host. 

Of the four hosts, there were all types of hosts and it seemed that she couldn’t say whatever was suitable for her. Su Qiuzi smiled bashfully and looked towards Zhu Meng. Accepting her gaze, Zhu Meng said faintly, “It’s not even certain if you can stay.” 

Because of Cao Tingping’s arrangement, Zhu Meng was also more pessimistic about her future. 

The hostess of the variety show was called Ryu Qing and she was the first senior of the station’s variety show hostess. She glanced at Zhu Meng, smiled meaningfully and said, “You’re just honest, and this fellow intern you brought with you is the same.” 

Listening that from her, Chen Ming smiled helplessly and said, “You mean I’m not being honest?”
 

The two of them had been working together for many years and had also been good friends for many years. Upon hearing Chen Ming say so, Ryu Qing remarked, “You are quite honest, but if the disciple you brought with you is honest or not, it’s not certain.” 

With that said, her eyes looked down at the front of the stage as Su Qiuzi and the other three hosts looked over simultaneously. 

All of the leaders of the TV station and the government in this Spring Festival Night Party were seated in the first row. At the moment, right beside the TV station chief stood a girl in a gown, slightly crouched. The girl was talking to the station chief about something and when she finished, the station director smiled and nodded. The girl smiled back respectfully before getting up and leaving. 

She was dressed in a cheongsam and had a wonderful figure, which was very different from the usual image of a pure white character, in which she even revealed some femininity. Before she left, she seemed to accidentally get her cheongsam stuck on something on the table, revealing a small piece of her white thighs. 

The girl blushed momentarily and apologized in a low voice, and the station chief laughed lightly and said that it was okay. She hurriedly smoothed out her cheongsam and left, red-faced. 

This action, done in a seamless fashion together with Cai Jiayu’s innocent face, did not appear deliberately pretentious at all, but looked natural and unsuspecting. 

After she left, Cao Tingping exchanged a few words with the station director, who only chuckled in return. 

Frankly speaking, seeing this scene, Su Qiuzi’s heart felt a little shaken. Cao Tingping had just introduced Cai Jiayu to the head of the station, who was impressed with her and was in the process of paving the way for Cai Jiayu. Even if Cao Tingping and Cai Jiayu went their separate ways in the future, Cai Jiayu could stay by relying on the impression she left on the station chief this time. 

Unlike Cai Jiayu, she seemed to be standing still in the same place. Su Qiuzi was feeling a bit cold in her heart.
