Chapter 70: Crisis At Work (1) 

Su Qiuzi had so much fun skiing that they spent a long time at the ski slopes that day, only leaving Qi Mountain very late. This dating had brought Su Qiuzi’s relationship with He Yu much closer. 

With the closing of the year, the Xia City TV station had begun to rehearse and record their program for the Spring Festival Night Party. The Spring Festival Night Party was much more grand and serious than the New Year’s Eve party. It was because The Spring Festival Night Party was the grandest traditional festival in China and the TV station would like to use this chance to develop their political relationship, hence the festival was closely tied with people from some political parties. When the recording took place, there were not only the executives of the station but also some government leaders who came to attend the event. 

Prior to the start of rehearsals, the TV station departments began to hold some large and small meetings to lay out the rehearsals and recording of the Spring Festival Night Party related work. 

In the conference room, Cao Tingping arranged all of the tasks according to their own capabilities and then his eyes fell on the internship chair. Su Qiuzi and Cai Jiayu were sitting there, sorting through their notes from the meeting. 

“This Spring Festival Night Party recording is by no means lesser than the New Year’s Eve Party, the leaders who come are more numerous and, while the intern host is still inexperienced, they are not scheduled to be on the stage.” Cao Tingping finished and looked at Su Qiuzi and said, ”Little Su has a strong learning capacity, so let’s arrange for her to go backstage and be the assistant to the hosts. It will be an excellent opportunity for her to learn by watching the seniors host up close.” 

“Okay, Senior Cao.” Su Qiuzi nodded and took up the task. 

Cao Tingping simply smiled and turned his eyes to Cai Jiayu, saying, ”Little Cai did a good job as an off-field host last time, being meticulous. Before the meeting, the chairman of the division told me that the reception leader was missing a welcoming host, so let’s place her there.”
 

At the sound of Cao Tingping’s words, the gaze of all the colleagues in the conference room shifted to Cai Jiayu and then to Su Qiuzi afterwards. But when their gazes fell on the latter, it seemed like there was a glimpse of pity in their eyes. 

Cao Tingping arranged the task this time according to his understanding of the two interns’ abilities. On the surface, Su Qiuzi’s role as assistant to the host was a bit more compatible, while in reality, Cai Jiayu’s role as the welcoming host was to paint her image in front of the TV station’s leaders at that time. If the station leaders were well impressed with her, then she would have a big advantage in the future when it came to whether she would stay or leave as an intern. 

In an instant, Cao Tingping’s scales were tilting towards Cai Jiayu. 

Right after the meeting ended, it was already noon and Xie Jiagu invited Su Qiuzi to the restaurant for lunch. Out of the two interns, Xie Jiagu favored Su Qiuzi some more, so she secretly wanted Su Qiuzi to stay. And yet, in the face of Cao Tingping’s bias, Xie Jiagu could do nothing but feel indignant. 

“Is this Old Cao praising Cai Jiayu for being sentimental?” She took the tray and sat down in the booth by the window as Su Qiuzi followed behind with her meal. 

Xie Jiagu was doing it for her, and Su Qiuzi naturally knew it, so she smiled and responded, “Who knows.” 

After saying that, Su Qiuzi lowered her head and ate quietly, not looking the least bit panicked. Seeing that she didn’t look the least bit flustered, Xie Jiagu took a chopstick and said, ” I see that you’re not even anxious, can’t you see that Old Cao is obviously biased towards Cai Jiayu?”
 

But, there was really no use in being panicky. 

Senior Cao did not praise Cai Jiayu for showing him emotion, but rather he slept with her and this development before her eyes could just be considered as ‘proper’. But Su Qiuzi really wasn’t in a hurry either, as she still had a lot of confidence in her heart. 

He Yu said that he would help her, and he was a man of his word. Since he said it, he would definitely do it. But just as Cai Jiayu was bound by Cao Tingping, she was also bound by He Yu. Plus, this was all based on the fact that she and He Yu were married.
