Chapter 116: Future Plans

Guan Lin sighed in relief as he watched Su Qiuzi go out to answer the phone.

It was almost noon and the pottery house was idle. Su Qiuzi went to the window sill at the end of the corridor and answered the call. Today was Sunday, but He Yu still had work to do.

Pressing the answer button, she called out to her husband with a smile. The man on the other side did not reject the call, replying with a deep and pleasant voice. Remembering the kiss he left on her ear just this morning while her body basked in the sunlight, Su Qiuzi’s face reddened.

“Are you at home?” He Yu asked.

“No, I’m in the White Stallion Building. I just signed the contract with the boss.” Su Qiuzi said with a smile, then added, “We are going to eat.”

On the other end of the phone, He Yu’s tone changed as he asked, “Only the two of you?”

Su Qiuzi nodded and happily replied, “Yes, the boss said it’s to celebrate, so we are going to a western restaurant.”

After she said that, He Yu, on the other end of the phone, was silent. Su Qiuzi thought that He Yu would not call her for no reason, so maybe he had some other plans. Su Qiuzi asked, “Did you have something planned?”

“Yes. ” He Yu smiled and said, “My mother called. She wants us to come over for dinner at noon.”

Going to Miao Hualing’s house for dinner had always been Su Qiuzi’s favorite thing. Her eyes lit up and, after confirming that it was true, she said, “Okay, okay, then I’ll talk to the boss. We’ll postpone the celebratory lunch to another day.”

He Yu smiled and replied, “It will be a while before my work ends. Will you wait for me to pick you up, or do you want to go by yourself first?”

He worried that if Su Qiuzi went ahead first, she would be uncomfortable in Miao Hualing’s house. But Miao Hualing was an elder Su Qiuzi was very comfortable with, so she was not nervous. She said she would go there first so He Yu could finish his work comfortably. After the two said their goodbyes, Su Quizi hung up the phone and went to her boss’s office.

Guan Lin was throwing darts when Su Qiuzi came over. He glanced at her and, suddenly, Su Qiuzi felt embarrassed. She had just agreed to their plans but now they had to be cancelled. She first apologized then explained to him that she was going to her mother-in-law’s house for lunch with her husband today.

When she was done speaking, Guan Lin threw his dart to one side, sat at his office chair, and stared at her in silence.

“I’m sorry, boss.” Su Qiuzi smiled and apologized again.

Guan Lin ignored her apology, looked at her bruised wrist and grinned, “Your husband’s exclusive desires are getting stronger.”

“Huh?” Su Qiuzi frowned, puzzled. She saw him staring at her wrist and understood what he was hinting at. She smiled and explained, “You may not know my husband very well. He is a very gentle person and never forces me to do anything.”

Did he not understand her husband, or did she not understand men?

Guan Lin let out an amused snort, but didn’t argue. He waved his hand at her, signaling her to leave. Su Qiuzi bade her farewells with a smile and left the Pottery House.

She exited the building and took a taxi to Miao Hualing’s house. The White Stallion building wasn’t far from her mother-in-law’s home.

By the time Su Qiuzi arrived, Miao Hualing was just about to head out. Su Qiuzi stood at the entrance of the building and called out, “Mom!”

Miao Hualing turned around and, seeing Su Qiuzi, smiled widely. “I’m going out to buy vegetables, do you want to come along?”

“Okay.” Su Qiuzi agreed with a grin.

The supermarket was not far away. Su Qiuzi walked with Miao Hualing, enjoying the weather in April that was very comfortable, even at noon. As the two walked along the road, they enjoyed a nice chat. The air was filled with the smell of grass, which smelled particularly good.

As graduation was approaching, aside from preparing a thesis, graduates were also looking for jobs. He Yu had already told her about Su Qiuzi’s plan to be a regular host, and Miao Hualing was very happy that she could stay on the TV station.
